This is so, so well-articulated.
This week on the #GameMakersNotebook podcast, @adamorth.bsky.social chats with ARC Raiders Design Director, Virgil Watkins about his journey from modding to Embark Studios, how internal testing shaped the PVPVE game experience, ways they're seeking to improve the game post-launch, and more!

When I was a child my mother bought a hostess trolley. It looked insane in our cramped little house. But she'd spent the cash and insisted we use it all the time, bumping and scratching as we went. It was, in every way, a worse experience than just carrying stuff yourself. This is a post about AI.
right?! it's extremely silly.
A Borges story about a guy who gets AI to summarize all the world’s information for him, and then summarize the summary, until the AI has the whole world summarized into a single word. He sits alone at his desk, staring at the word, repeating it endlessly, certain he is experiencing everything
This is very impressive!
Joe makes some very good points here.

Ooooof haha! Life can be tough, topside...
The more I use Windows 11, the more convinced I am that big tech companies are desperate for AI to succeed because not only do they not know how to improve their software anymore, in a lot of cases, their broken architecture means that they don't know how to stop their software getting worse.
Huh, it's February already? I guess that means it's time for

18th year in a row for me, that's ridiculous... #FAWM
Lots of leadership loves talking about iteration and being agile, but when you need to put effort into making workflows fast, suddenly there’s no time available.
The cure is simple: Sit behind someone who is actually doing the work. If their tools are bad you’ll get frustrated in minutes.
that's just how I operate in general
Iconic!
friend of mine is an undocumented immigrant and has been hiding in Melania theaters bc he knows people assume no one is in there
It certainly will be. They can't know intent of activation, and I imagine that kind of stat is one that makes C-level people feel like they've achieved something, is technically true and easy to bandy around, but also probably quite misleading
