And, like, you survive and are okay, great! Then there are the post-viral complications to consider. π·πππ
#ChildDeath This is so horrific. The more I learn about viruses the more I have a hard time understanding why people are so casual about them, especially measles
Seconding this πππ
Congratulations and very well-deserved!!!!!
Thank you! π
Massage o'clock is now, on my watch π
Ooh, I haven't heard of that! I did Spanish in school but that was obvs ages ago. I've been doing Fluent Forever because it has a few features I like (more logical word learning order, minimal pairs ear training) but it's probably time to switch up soon. What do you think of Dreaming Spanish? πππ
No, brain! This is not the way! πππ
I love this for you
Very cool!!!
(Today has been a good, sad-free, day, but the thought amused me so I decided to share it. Then I got smart and found the Madrid recording because I'm lowkey studying Spanish (and also to be sad in a third language π))
Me, perusing a selection of music options: aha! Les Misérables en français! I can be sad in a different language!
That works perfectly! I'll definitely leave Nisan behind and enjoy Iyar! Thank you! π
The robber wasn't armed and walked away/didn't have a getaway car. Both very unusual, from what I know about bank robberies! (Especially in a car-centric suburban-type city.)
so many πππππ
brilliant perfect i love them
It felt very much like a week that the network would reject if scripted for a tv show. But! New month tomorrow! πππππ
Tomorrow I am starting April over. Just tossing the first part of the month into the dumpster of the past and giving myself a fresh new month.
(I mean, the story of my brother being in the parking lot during an odd bank robbery is kind of funny, but was the penultimate straw for my fucks.)
I am having fun assigning books without duplicating any, and tagging things from my tbr where needed.
Also doing the 2026 Trans Rights readathon, but that's only 9 books so easy enough to complete this year.
Very appreciative of the Storygraph user who added all the past BookRiot Read Harder challenges but didn't limit you to reading them in a specific year. Maybe I can do this with the Politics and Prose lists, if no one has. I love the challenges, just not the time limit.
Turns out it belonged to my mom's paternal grandmother and we have no idea how old it is. Definitely at least 70 years old but could be substantially older. (Mom said it could have been from his childhood, which would make it 110+.)
Absolutely deserved the toothbrush!
Started in on a small tidying project and, one thing leading to another, start cleaning a small table with a toothbrush. The table was my late grandmother's; I thought she bought it in the late '70s and my mother was going to think it was OTT to clean it with a toothbrush.
Ooh, interesting idea!
WHAT wow!
I dispute the horror of your accent but I do love that they appreciate you (and that you're able to stay caffeinated) π
I suspect if they split 45-54 and 55-64 the bulk of the Rs would be in the older cohort; younger Gen X is pretty different
omg this sounds AMAZING
Thank you all for the support -- looks like it's nothing major (following up to confirm Monday) though it presented like the reoccurence of something major ππππ«
oh that sounds like an AMAZING vid!!! (and I hope revisiting Farscape helps at least provide some comfort during everything else, though comfort is an odd word to associate with Farscape)
