Lots of good reasons to oppose Data Centers, but they will absolutely not go to waste. Excess infrastructure is the type of leftovers you want. Crap like NFT's or crypto coins didn't help anyone after the bust came.

Data centers won't rot away like a Defunctland Bemusement Park. We had this issue with excess fiber cable after the .com bust. It eventually got used and lowered prices for those beneficial uses for many years.

I'm confident that we're going to have plenty of energy, but the value of so much "AI" tech is so low that people will be unlikely to use it unless there's some sort of monopoly and they have no choice. Which explains much of the current strategy.
