On April 29, the Supreme Court will hear arguments in Mullin v. Doe regarding the Trump admin’s attempt to terminate TPS for ~7,000 Syrians. Deeply proud @timep.bsky.social and @sjac-info.bsky.social came together in an expert amicus brief laying out the case for why termination was improper.

Pope Leo XIV @Pontifex X.com #ArtificialIntelligence systems increasingly shape and permeate our mentality and social environments. Like every great historical transformation, this too calls not only for technical competence, but also for a humanistic formation capable of making visible the logic behind economics, embedded biases and forms of power that shape our perception of reality. 1:31 PM • 4/17/26 • 91K Views
Pope Leo XIV @Pontifex X.com Within digital environments — structured to persuade — interaction is optimized to the point of rendering a real encounter superfluous; the otherness of persons in the flesh is neutralized, and relationships are reduced to functional responses. Dear friends, you, however, are real persons! Creation itself has a body, a breath, a life to be listened to and safeguarded. 1:31 PM • 4/17/26 • 209K Views
Pope Leo XIV @Pontifex X.com When simulation becomes the norm, it weakens the human capacity for discernment. As a result, our social bonds close in upon themselves, forming self-referential circuits that no longer expose us to reality. We thus come to live within bubbles, impermeable to one another. Feeling threatened by anyone who is different, we grow unaccustomed to encounter and dialogue. In this way, polarization, conflict, fear and violence spread. What is at stake is not merely the risk of error, but a transformation in our very relationship with truth. 1:31 PM • 4/17/26 • 696K Views

Citizens should also be demanding that their representatives not take campaign contributions from Palantir!
Today, there are a number of mobilizations happening across the world in solidarity with the people in Lebanon. Here are some photos from the vigil in Washington, DC.
The group is calling for a permanent ceasefire, an arms embargo, and accountability for war crimes.
Fair point. Palantir's past actions are a pretty clear blueprint for what 'manifesto' promises. Let's not get too distracted by PR spin.
Thanks for sharing!
Anyone who wants to keep learning, and doing something, about this, check out @purgepalantir.bsky.social too.
A machine to serve authoritarians
I don't know about you, but I refuse to live in the dystopian world that Palantir is not only ideating, but implementing.
It's time for companies to divest, lawyers to go to court, voters to demand that their reps refuse and return their contributions.
We can't just stand by.
The phrase goes, "When someone shows you who you are, believe them."
Palantir has done just that. It has shown us that it has no regard for the sanctity of human life, that it has no qualms separating families and terrorizing children, and that it believes we are not all equal.
In the midst of Trump's harrowing campaign against immigrants, Palantir has been at the forefront, collaborating with ICE-- an entity complicit in killing, torture, and disappearance--to increase their number of targets.
The ACLU explains more here: www.aclu.org/news/privacy...
In the midst of a genocide, Palantir entered into a new strategic partnership with the Israeli Ministry of Defense and became complicit in Israel's illegal targeting of civilians and disproportionate use of force.

Today, a lot of people will be talking about the manifesto that Palantir released. In addition to pouring over what those words mean, I invite you to ground the conversation in what Palantir has already done.
Its work with Israel and ICE show us exactly what it stands for.
For friends in London: There will be a gathering to honor and mourn the late Sudanese thinker and advocate Muzan Alneel on Monday.

أربعة عقود من النضال للبحث عن مصير المفقودين في لبنان

Yesterday, @timep.bsky.social published an incredible interview with Wadad Halwani, an absolute powerhouse who turned the horrific disappearance of her husband during Lebanon's civil war into impactful collective action.
You won't want to miss her reflections: timep.org/2026/04/16/f...
On Monday, Lebanon marked 51 years since its civil war.
Wadad Halwani turned the deeply harrowing disappearance of her husband during that time into collective action. Don't miss this @timep.bsky.social Q&A in which she explains what this work means to her and why she keeps doing it.
It's important to note however that between the November 2024 ceasefire and Lebanon being pulled into the war in March 2026, Israel kept conducting near-daily strikes on the south in violation of the ceasefire.
Whether Israel actually halts its strikes this time around remains a big IF.
Promising news as Trump announces a ten-day ceasefire in Lebanon.
Hoping that it is actually implemented, that it provides respite for the people of Lebanon and particularly the 1.2 million people displaced from their homes, and that it leads to a permanent end to hostilities.
"في سبتمبر عام 1982، بينما كانت الحرب اللبنانية مستعرة، تغيرت حياة وداد حلواني إلى الأبد. اختُطف زوجها عدنان لتبدأ رحلة طويلة للبحث عنه، وتكتشف سريعًا أنها ليست وحدها...وهكذا وُلدت لجنة أهالي المخطوفين والمفقودين في لبنان التي تقودها وداد منذ أكثر من أربعة عقود."

For friends in Toronto: There will be a vigil honoring the life of the late Sudanese advocate, writer, and thinker Muzan Alneel tomorrow, August 16 at 7:30 pm, hosted by the Sudan Solidarity Collective.
Last week, @timep.bsky.social joined a coalition of orgs to urge Senators to block these arms sales.
Congress is meant to play an oversight role and that includes ensuring that arms aren't used in gross violations of human rights.
That's what today was all about. timep.org/2026/04/09/j...
In a separate vote, 36 US Senators have voted to block the sale of 1,000-pound bombs to Israel which have been used in Gaza, Lebanon, and Iran.
Again, these are ground-breaking numbers and reflect a significant shift among US voters (and their representatives) on these issues.
Absolutely historic vote today where 40 US Senators voted to block the sale of Caterpillar D-9 bulldozers to Israel, citing civilian harm Gaza, the West Bank, and Lebanon.
Though the measure was defeated (as expected), the tide is turning. Just last year, this number was 27.
