NEU staff are on strike today and tomorrow.
We can’t beleive it’s come to this. Striking as a trade union worker requires an absurd amount of things to go wrong — because you spend everyday making the union you love the kind of organisation people want to join - you only ever want to see it win.

In the words of Nelson Mandela: it always seems impossible until it’s done.
My friends, it is done. And you are the ones who did it.
I am honored to be your Democratic nominee for the Mayor of New York City.
🇵🇸 Palestine vigil in Leamington this weekend. The ongoing genocide continues and so does the resistance. One day everyone will be have been against this. Let that day come mercifully soon #freepalestine
Today, children are taught about history’s worst crimes against humanity.
We ask how the world could have possibly let them happen.
Future history books will shame those who could have stopped the genocide in Gaza, but chose to enable atrocity after atrocity instead.

Israel is expanding its ground invasion in northern Gaza, issuing sweeping forced displacement orders for many thousands of Palestinians, while continuing to rain down bombs on the population.
This is genocide. (1/7) 🧵
Before I was first elected in 2019, I pledged to take a worker’s wage and share the remainder after tax with my community. I obviously donate any MPs’ pay rises as part of this.
My first donation this year is £4000 to two local disabled people’s organisations linked below:

This is an abomination. Welfare not Warfare!
War on the disabled, pensioners and child benefit through austerity, yet money galore for actual war.
No Other Land depicts the horrifying violence Palestinians in the West Bank endure under apartheid.
Yesterday, its co-director Hamdan Ballal was beaten in his home by settlers before being detained by Israeli forces.

Everyone complicit in the genocide in Gaza MUST be held to account
Happy St Patricks Day! 🍀
The Irish people have always stood in solidarity with Palestine. 🇮🇪🇵🇸✊
I know where I stand on austerity.
That's why I voted to scrap the two-child benefit cap, opposed the means-testing for winter fuel payments, & will vote against cuts to welfare & disability benefits.
Instead of targeting the most vulnerable, the government should tax the rich.
Israel's siege on Gaza, the blocking of essential aid and the cutting off of electricity are textbook acts of genocide, designed to systematically starve 2 million people.
It's shameful the Labour government continues to refuse to recognise this for what it truly is: genocide.

Community-building, strengthening family bonds, these things are important and they require time and effort to get them right.
Nothing workshy about it.

a slightly damp golden retriever puppy leaps toward the camera with his front paws right at the bottom of the frame. his ears are flapping out away from his head a bit, and he has the sweetest look in his eyes. his tiny razor-sharp teeth are pristine, and his tongue is a little wrinkled like it doesn’t fully fit in his face yet.
This is Drake. He is very happy to see you. Saw you about five minutes ago, but is thrilled it's happening again. 12/10
