Always listen to your vet first, but here's another vote for Miralax. Tyger gets 1/8 tsp 1-2 times every day or he gets impacted, life-threateningly so.
Been doing this 6 years since a terrifying emergency vet visit. He's got megacolon. He's only made it to 15 because of this.

We used Lap of Love, and by chance one of our retired vets was the one who came. She actually knew all of our cats. It was a real gift to Dexter.
This company interviews you to make sure you really do need the service, if you know what I mean, so I was very impressed with their professionalism.
We had home euthanasia for our cat Dexter on his favorite porch with two of his cat friends present (the little semi-feral wouldn't come out with a stranger in the house.) They seemed unaffected but they also didn't search for him later. The cancer was bad by this point so I think they knew anyway.
Here are the Top 5 Dogs of the week!
Thanks. Vet is already keeping an eye on it, it's been stable. Lost one to CKD 5 years ago so I'm no stranger to that nightmare.
His big bad is megacolon. He gets Miralax and cisapride daily for that.

Tyger says hello. I hope he makes it to (at least) 17, he just had good blood work but he's getting a little frail.
This is Dexter. He did lose most of his sight in one eye from glaucoma probably from inflammation from the FIV. He also would get an upper respiratory virus about every 2 years, but antiviral pills would fix it. Mostly he was strong as an ox. All cats loved him even though he was grouchy.
Enjoy this pic of Olive, who decided to sleep in today instead of frolicking in the ice with her brothers.
FIV+ is common in strays and ferals and cats can live for years with only minor health issues, although some can have it bad and die young. I have one now and had two before, one died at 14 and one at 11. Neither from FIV. Never had a transmission to my other cats.
Give him a good life. I miss mine.
He finally went out, twice, but he didn’t stay long.

The cold takes a lot out of Ziggy. He loves snow, but we'll have to see how he does in the ice tomorrow.

We are thrilled to announce that our NEW Large Language Model will be released on 11.18.25.
Yeah, we’re retired and at a comfortable point in our lives. I know exactly where you’re coming from, been there.
We have a semi-feral that has a cough (possibly asthma) but it's difficult to get her into the vet for shots let alone allergy treatment. When we replaced our heat pump we upgraded to a UV treatment and advanced filter system and replaced our 40-year-old ductwork. Her coughs have mostly disappeared.

The dearly departed Dexter, gone 16 months ago from cancer. Claws like Wolverine. I have a scar on my arm I'll take to my grave from him being playful. I treasure it.

Seriously, the thing that jumped out first to me was the $1.25 price. I haven't paid that for a method book since 1973.

🚨 The Dept of Defense is shutting down its weather satellite program. No more data. No more updates. Meteorologists are scrambling—and we’re heading into peak storm season.
Brilliant timing.

Thinking of a hero I knew and admired.
Display of mannequins of a horse with a dog on back, both with gas masks. Surrounded by fake plastic barbed wire.

The community band played a patriotic concert at Walnut Grove colonial plantation Saturday and I kept wondering why this horse wasn't moving. Then I saw the dog on his back. Then I went in for a closer look after we warmed up.
Superman fan since I was very, very young. I've seen many variations. This one looks so hopeful and uplifting.
It comes out the day after my 70th birthday. I can't wait.🙂
The first serial of my very personal memoir drops tomorrow on @vanityfair.com and I am super scared and freaked out. Anyway since I live online I thought I’d share.
I read it…
