Taxing the rich is ideological class war.
Taxing the poor and disabled is fiscal responsibility.

Australia's biggest AI factory planned for remote WA A huge artificial intelligence data centre capable of training models like ChatGPT is planned for WA's remote north at a cost of billons of dollars.

@edzitron.com what's the grift with this one? I worry that these projects get such steam, that governments feel compelled to pay for them when they don't stack up financially.

I notice Atlassian are sacking lots of devs, replacing with AI. That's the spiel anyway. Cannon-Brookes traded on being a white-hat billionaire for years, 'Jesus of Double-Bay' as one scribe called him, but the mask is slipping recently. Flying a private jet, sacking workers for AI, etc.

I think Caddy is showing early signs of being a wasted talent. He seems to want to do the party tricks, but not forward stuff.
McGrath and Parish could run hard defensively, but don't bother, and it flows through rest of players.
Anyway thanks for the article.

Hi Rohan, I think I agree with your article broadly. But you seem to have it both ways. On the one hand, only 1 in top player, so fans are wrong about top end talent. On the other, an insidious culture so lazy effort. Wasted talent is proverbial, but it doesn't mean no talent. Hence coaching/dev.

I'll take the world war if the US ends up like Britain after WWII, and it breaks the back of the fossil fuel mafia. /s

Question Israel? Why does the Australian governments support Israel colonisation projects and attacks on women and children. That sort of thing. I guess my post was a blunder. Should had waited to morning. Anyway…

It was not told to me personally.

The quote was on tv in relation to the Herzog visit . the taking head said something along the lines that protesting Herzog was antisemtic. Now it was told to me personally, that not how tv works.and I can’t find a clip of it. So, I understand if you find me full of it

Pics from the park. I follow people I believe are experts or are interesting and post when the mood, take some. Sorry that I don’t act as you expect. But I don’t want internet friends or to be followed.

It’s a common trope in Australian media that questioning Israel is antisemitism. That’s what I mean by I’m told. someone is on tv literally saying that.

don’t support Israeli actions against civilians or unilateral war waging. But I worry that that makes me a fellow traveller with antisemites. I’m told that to question Israel is to be antiSemite. At heart I hate the idea of innocents being persecuted. But do I blunder in my ignorance?

Apologies for the cynicism, but I don't think they cared, whoever they were.
In my country, our lapdog PM is praising the US for stopping Iran from developing Nuclear Arms. Which program was obliterated last year. But We've always been at war with Oceania. Rules based order for me, for you nothing.

I'm of the not original opinion that to succeed in a party machine, you need to shave off the idealism that made you want to be a politician (some never had that), and work for the day when you're in power to implement your dreams, which you forgot along the way, and power is all that's left.

For a busted-arse party that's being eaten by PHON on one side, and 'TEALS' on the other, why do they get so much attention? Media like living in the past?

We don't have to accept that. We can vote in minor parties/independents until they can influence government. I doubt we could get enough in parliament to form government. But it's not set in stone that LAB/LIB/NAT control power.

Spanish/French production. I hadn't heard of it, which isn't saying much.
Is it so bad it's good, or just bad?

You really are on a trip.
I didn't say Greens, how it that dismissing them? Bit who cares?
Politics isn't supporting a footy team. I'm labor all my life, We've always backed Liberal. The Greens shouldn't be dismissed. Sigh.
The only important thing is what will make Aus fairer. If it's Green, fine.

Why is it that people who want to be elected seem to think they deserve it, no matter what their past/present indiscretions? I guess I feel that is someone wants power, they should be denied it at these times. Sort of a red flag.
We need sortition.

You've gotten worked up because I said the major parties are crap, vote independents or something. The Greens would be something. Seemed obvious. Greens have 25%, but not seats.
I would love a Greens+Independants govt, Tony Windsor/Monique Ryan types, with the oppo being LLNP (Lab/Lib/Nat).

Stupid autocorrect.

Regarding your statement that independents are mostly aligned with the libs. Are they? Monique Ryan, Helen Haines. Etc are not right wing nutjiibs. They represent conservative or centre electorates that will never elect greens and will vote with greens against libnats so are prefersbl.

i thought you wanted my to include the greens amongst the major parties that are out of touch with Australians because that was the point of my post. then I realised you wanted me to mention greens alongside independents which I did. I never vote major party. I want them gone.

1 month ago 0 0 0 0

Oh you meant why wouldn’t i say vote greens. Go for it. But after their safeguard capitulation I’m not convinced they won’t sell out environment. But sure vote greens.

1 month ago 0 0 0 0

What? Not a major party in parliament. Why would it bother me to say greens?
I’m not sure what you’re getting at. Greens don’t support slavishly following the US but if they did I’d dunk on them. But again not currenty many lower house seats.
