So *that’s* why we got an Apple iOS update for security bugs this week youtu.be/INGOC6-LLv0?...

I'm also planning to refine the concepts a bit more based on what is working well in the ads. To be continued...
Next, I'm planning to try Reddit ads and advanced targeting on Facebook ads that could help optimize cost and conversion by narrowing down to people who have iPhones and Apple Watches (since my app uses Apple Watch/AirPods Pro 3 heart rate sensing data). ⌚️
Overall, site traffic got a big boost from the ads and it took about 3100 views across the 3 concepts to result in 1 email sign-up conversion. We are building the marketing funnel! 🛠️
Instead, the concept with the middle-of-the-road CTR was the one that converted. 🎉
Even with this small test, my most popular concept had a higher CTR (2.03%) than the industry standard for Health & Fitness (1.63%), but interestingly this was not the concept that resulted in an email conversion 🤔
🫀 HeartHealthier #BuildInPublic 🚧 Update #2
Progress is slow, but in the forward direction. I launched paid ads on FB with 3 different concept variations and a splash page to see if there was any interest or conversion with the ads. For less than $30, here's what I learned:
Looks like I missed this one but would like to join the next one (if there is one)
"To see how workouts can help gut microbes quell cancer, researchers had mice with cancer run on treadmills." A small mouse on a treadmill in a gym setting with rowing machines.
Workouts can help gut microbes quell cancer in mice, a study published in Cell Press reports. Researchers found that exercise reshapes the gut microbiome in mice and, by increasing microbial production of formate, enhances CD8 T cell-mediated immune function:

What other apps are there out there that help people proactively manage their #meatabolic health?
And Processed processedapp.com
I started using Processed because I wanted to look at my food through the harmful additives lens and also the NOVA classification lens - which tells you how processed the foods you're eating are.
The second reason I feel encouraged: technology can be a key enabler for people to make healthier choices, like Yuka bsky.app/profile/wash...
We need to help people educate themselves on what the drivers of metabolic syndrome are so they can assess their own health risk. There are so many ways health consumers/"patients" can help themselves by accessing any of the new platforms like Everlywell, Function Health, Levels, etc.
Despite this being one of the largest public health challenges of our time I feel encouraged for two reasons: 1) most people are in the dark about their own metabolic health.
This is a HUGE opportunity!
We know metabolic problems ("pre-diabetes") lead to more serious issues like Cardiovascular Disease, Hypertension and Diabetes later in life. We also know that some of these diseases are thought to be precursors to neurodegenerative diseases like Alzheimer's and Parkinson's.
I was listening to a really interesting podcast from the McKinsey Health Institute about a new era in #metabolichealth especially with GLP-1s now in pill form.

“According to the McKinsey Health Institute, investing in women's health could save up to US$1 trillion annually by improving productivity and reducing health-care costs.”

If you're interested in watching the talk, Newsom does a very good job of approaching the topic of AI job displacement with a great deal of humanity and empathy and that's exactly what we'll need moving forward. youtu.be/nraVUeinGF8?...
Now seems to be a point of soul-searching. As the Atlantic article calls out, "searches for the phrase 'job apocalypse' are spiking". My simple hope is that we as a collective society will use this as an opportunity to focus on the truly hard problems that need solving.
It will be a reckoning. As companies choose to optimize for profits and many are unemployed the K/E-shaped economy Newsom references will continue to fracture/diverge even more.
It's been 7 years and I'm not sure we're more prepared for the coming job displacements that will undoubtably come. There are a lot of BS jobs that will be eliminated.
When I read headlines like The Atlantic's How to Guess If Your Job Will Exist in Five Years, it makes me think of this [pre-Covid/pre-OpenAI/pre-Claude] Gavin Newsom talk from 7 years ago at the Stanford Human-Centered AI symposium.
Great perspective
As someone who doesn't know a lot about octopi - do other tentacles serve as "oh, I might pick that up along the way while moving- let's grab that" or potentially in case one of the other legs is hurt? Or are some tentacles just "default legs" while others are "default hands"?
But I guess this is what mid-level prompting skills on #midjourney gets you.
