The messy plaintiffs behind so many anti-abortion lawsuits Allegations of domestic violence have turned yet another abortion-pill case into "a PR disaster."

Abortion opponents keep neglecting to vet the plaintiffs behind their abortion-pill lawsuits. And the cases keep blowing up in their faces.

Rep. Ayanna Pressley poses for a photo with a painting portrait of Dachea Fluerimond.

Dachea Fluerimond should be alive today.

But like many Black women seeking maternal care, her pain was dismissed, delegitimized, & ignored.

This Black Maternal Health Week, I'm more resolved than ever to end the maternal morbidity crisis that is still ravaging our communities.

Women in uniform missing from abortion study after Dobbs decision, researcher says Ibis Reproductive Health could recruit only three women in uniform for a 2024 survey on the effects of the decision that ended protection of abortion.

When a research team tried to document how US female service members were faring two years after Roe was overturned, only 3 subjects stepped forward, compared to 300 in a similar 2019 study. The team said reasons might be heightened fear, surveillance, professional risk, and a rise in sterilization.

If you hadn't noticed, Bluesky had a bit of an oopsy-poopsy today what with the vibe coding, etc. We're reupping this ORIGINAL REPORTED STORY on the failures at a trans homeless shelter in NYC now that things seem to be working better.

I certainly understood the convo to refer to osteopathic medicine, and I agree with you. I didn’t consider there may be confusion regarding chiropractic medicine, which is a whole other issue entirely, yes.

You counseled on medical school applications. I actually applied. You speak of quality of education and I actually attended and interacted. I think all of this is an interesting mental exercise but there’s no way to “prove” any assertions. The whole medical education system is flawed in many ways.

The score differences are not an appreciable amount, IMO. I think the oversimplification is unhelpful, as is ignoring the general bias that exists which therefore creates a self-fulfilling prophecy situation.

Chuck Schumer's two votes tonight in favor of bombs and bulldozers to Israel is yet another reason Senate Democrats must vote to remove him as leader post the midterms.

I'm helping to lead a group of Senate Democrats who are planning to force a vote - every single week the Senate is in session - to end the war in Iran. We have that right under the Senate rules, and we are going to keep putting Republicans on record supporting this insane war.

I disagree they still learn that as an actual thing that exists but I didn’t attend their classes. It’s my understanding they learn what we learn and what I would classify as additional kinesiology.

Would be great if a DO felt safe enough to chime into the discussion.

Which beliefs about physiology are false? Seemingly physiology, being based in physical chemistry thus reliant upon and existing because of the laws of physics, doesn’t allow for “a belief system” in the first place.

I have many osteopathic colleagues and worked along osteopathic medical students when I was an allopathic student. There is no quackery. That is a harmful myth.

DOJ paid more than $1 million settlement to anti-abortion protester — after a federal judge tossed his suit Abortion opponents celebrated news of the settlement, while career prosecutors said it’s another example of Trump’s DOJ kowtowing to once-prosecuted abortion opponents.

🚨 NEW @ms.now: Trump’s DOJ paid more than $1 million to settle a case against an anti-abortion protester that *checks notes* a Bush-appointed judge dismissed.

It’s the latest example of the DOJ going to great lengths to kowtow to previously prosecuted anti-abortion protesters ⤵️

Florida doctor indicted and accused of removing patient's liver instead of spleen in fatal surgery A grand jury indicted Dr. Thomas Shaknovsky on a charge of second-degree manslaughter in the August 2024 death of a 70-year-old Alabama man.

I misunderstood a “legal-ese” question on my Alabama license application (which I quickly corrected) and they REVOKED my license, declaring me “an immediate threat and danger to the public.”

But murder someone and it’s “temporary license suspension.”

Horrifying.😞

Former Syracuse basketball player to be deported after more than a month in ICE custody

Former Syracuse basketball player to be deported after more than a month in ICE custody

26 years old from South Sudan. He has been in the US since age 13, when he was recruited to the country for basketball.

Now being discarded as if he was human refuse.

Shame on Syracuse for not intervening.

Contrary to public perception a huge % of pregnant teenagers in the 1990s were impregnated by adult men. The younger they were, the larger the average age gap between mother and father was. Fixing teen pregnancy was in part a clampdown on statutory rape. That's what conservatives want to reverse.

“Why aren’t college students protesting” stories are almost always wrong (they are protesting), omit crucial context (they were brutally punished for protesting before), and somehow suggest that 19 yr olds have more moral responsibility than elected officials three times their age

Happening now: an anti-war protest is gathering in Chicago's Federal Plaza over US/Israeli attacks on Iran & Lebanon.

Iranian & US officials announced a 2 week ceasefire yesterday. That's now in question after Israel extensively bombed Lebanon earlier today, reportedly killing over 250 people.

"Fundamental to this case—and indeed to our constitutional system—is the principle that the will of the President does not supersede that of Congress," Murphy wrote. "Presidential whims do not and cannot supplant agencies' ‌statutory obligations."
