Come join @xrnyc.bsky.social tonight as we screen Abby Martin’s “Earth’s Greatest Enemy” with a Q&A with her afterwards. The documentary shows the shocking breadth of the harm done the US military empire. Once you see the truth you’ll be outraged & better prepared to #ActNow. See Abby’s take below
The Dalai Lama has entered the chat.

Thing is, men were whinging about "fallen masculinity" before feminism too. This is all man on man violence and the male gaze and it has to do with bullying, authoritarianism and power and very little to do with women (or feminism) really. Tho feminism DID point it out as being bad for men too.
now if only debbie was able to admit where else there are concentration camps
Not in a good place to protest but called my representatives and everyone I know…
remember none of this would’ve happened if we had just banned trans women in sports
If the wealthy can get you thinking about who deserves basic needs and who doesn't, they win. They don't care if you think wealthy people are the ones who don't deserve; establishing that it must be earned is the key. With that done, they can just keep expanding the definition of "undeserving."
I have been saying this since January 6, 2021, and this is inevitably going to have to become the main stream position.
You cannot have a government with a party that is trying to overthrow the government
about to touch down in dc so i wanna tell a brief story about how a trip to idaho changed me forever
Living a moral life in an age of bullies requires collective action; it cannot be done alone. Each of us must organize and participate in a vast network of moral resistance. From this solidarity we will grow stronger. This is what our current moment requires.
“What this war exposes, then, is a failure not only of strategy but of literacy. Literature & history … train precisely the faculties these leaders lack: the capacity to grant that other minds are not transparent to us, & are governed by purposes not our own”

The future has arrived … do something, anything, with others…
Read the 2nd skeet too… 2 parts
The coming Climate Chaos will demand this or will be fascist and horrible (and in between). Lots of meaningful nourishing work to do to get there though…
the state of idaho is literally going to send trans folks to jail for five years over peeing and the media is still talking about this shit like it’s limited to sports
It’s not strange. Grown Americans in positions of power & authority called the police on to campuses, and threatened the future work and livelihood of 20 year olds because they dared to stand against the mass bombing of women and children.
And they will never forget it.
Harry Potter is the Guernica of quickly bloating slapdash mystery fantasy stealing its influences from other artists and centrist neoliberal politics
Speaking of Picasso and violence towards women, Kent Monkman's use of Picasso-esque female figures in his work is incredibly powerful and masterful. www.elektramontreal.ca/bian-2024/th...
Excellent addition to the discourse on separating the art from the artist … or not (sub skeets are good too especially one I’ll reskeet)
Documents filed this morning by the U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of NY exposing how ICE has been lying for a year — not only to the public, but to the courts and to prosecutors — about being authorized to make arrests at 26 Federal Plaza and other immigration courts.

“The city’s transition away from the car, tho fantastically chaotic, has become a global role model. Under mayor @annehidalgo.bsky.social, Paris was ‘the most influential city in the world’ says Canadian urbanist Brent Toderian. Hidalgo, stepping down after 12 yrs, exulted: ‘The bike beat the car.’”
President Trump has also pardoned more than 70 people convicted of fraud. Philip Esformes stole $1.3 billion from Medicare and Medicaid via fraudulent billing. Trump commuted his 20 year sentence after 14 months served. Lawren Duran was part of a $205 million Medicare fraud scheme but longer needs to repay $87 million in restitution because of Trump’s pardon. This is just the tip of the iceberg: Trump’s pardons eliminated $700 million in restitution and fines.
Beginning to think Trump's Fraud Squad might not be completely on the level donmoynihan.substack.com/p/one-bad-id...
"I am now actively profiting off making people disappear.”
A really interesting piece. The social dynamics that made these folks believe they weren't *already* profiting from "making people disappear" by designing jails and prisons... let's just say there's a lot to unpack here.
*emerging from a tank I have driven through your homes* ok which one of you assholes is going to clean up this mess.
“I was surprised to see how focused Adolf Hitler and his propaganda minister, Joseph Goebbels, were on winning over the luminaries of German film”
