On the left is a small circular lake that reflects some of the stars in the sky. Together, the land and lake look like an eye lookout out at the Milky Way. Orbital view of a cloud formation over the icy north polar cap of Mars. The main cloud formation sits in the lower part of the ice cap and appears bright white, shifting to a slightly dustier tone closer to the ice cap. It resembles cirrus like clouds, formed in patches and curved bands shaped by wind. The polar cap below shows a spiral like structure, bordered by rust colored terrain with a faint hazy appearance.

CNSA’s Tianwen-1 mission has recently released new images of Mars, including this view of the north polar cap showing a very cool cloud formation.

Might be time to divert priority into multiple AppViews for a truly decentralized infrastructure. During the downtime @blackskyweb.xyz which hosts it's own AppView server was running fine.

No matter how many PDS servers you host, all being on the same AppView risks another single-point-failure.

The whole-Earth-at-night photo from the #Artemis II mission was brighter than many expected. That was mostly due to camera settings; here’s another pic taken just before with diff settings. Digital photography is always subjective—even before processing! (HT @swapnakrishna.com @jasonc0.bsky.social)

This amazing photo was taken by Commander Reid Wiseman on Artemis II.

What a lot of folks don't realize is that this side of the Earth is illuminated by moonlight, not the sun. And you can see aurora on both poles.

Picture was rotated 180 degrees to provide more familiar orientation.
