I do like the term "Atmosphere" I think it lives between AT Protocol and Bluesky in way that it is less technical and an easier point to explain open social concepts

Okay so here’s my actual Bluesky-is-dying hypothesis:

The entire web is dying. Users aren’t going from BlueSky to another site (x/insta/threada/tiktok). Users are going to chatbots.

I know traffic to news sites has cratered (like 90%). My hunch is traffic to all the social platforms is down too.

the understanding would be that a /username is still a .bsky.social PDS account since its the bsky app they can do whatever is best for their app growth

what if bluesky hid the .bsky.social extension (+ the /profile/ path), so that a user account would be bsky.app/username instead of bsky.app/profle/username.bsky.social

ppl could embed a short url to their profile instead of pointing to their @ , and still support domains like bsky.app/sgo.to
