Use R in your Dagster pipelines with {dagsterpipes} – Joe Kirincic Learn how R can now be used seamlessly within Dagster projects.

New post. You built an ML model with {tidymodels} that you want automated in Dagster. Engineering's reply: "Sorry, we need this rewritten in Python to deploy." No more. With the {dagsterpipes} R package, you can run R code in Dagster with full observability. #rstats

nightmare for me

There is a class of LLM critique I find impossible to take seriously. It goes like this:

If left unchecked, a car will drive straight into anything in front of it.

No shit, Sherlock. Let's do better at critique.

I can only imagine what Donnie will do to prevent this. If his inner circle allows any truth in, he sees the writing on the wall. This is a dangerous time to have petulant 15-year-old man at the helm, especially one whose wet dream is to nuke something before he dies.

AI’s Rapid Transformation of Work — April 12, 2026 Update Agents in a closed environment can build trust

7 articles in this week's update, but 2 are striking. Stanford professor James Zou built a virtual lab of #AI scientist agents, and the company, Every, gave each employee a personal AI agent. Two very different worlds. They both find ways to build trust.

My AI Risk Framework How can we think about coexistence with superintelligence?

Here is how I am thinking about #AI risk. I had messy thoughts and needed to untangle them and apply some structure. If that's you, too, this may help. open.substack.com/pub/thetreel...

The best book I've never read is If Anyone Builds It, Everyone Dies by Eliezer Yudkowsky & Nate Soares.

I encourage all authors to put their main point right in the title or within the first five pages. Please. This is so nice for readers.

(fwiw, I bought the book and I will actually read it)

or maybe `style` in the .yaml could point to a brand.yml

3 weeks ago 0 0 0 0

could it get some details from brand.yml, like bananarama(path = "bananarama.yaml", output_dir = NULL, force = FALSE, brand_yaml = NULL)?

AI's transformation of work A running log

I am still logging AI's transformation of work. The log is a quiet place, absent the noise of social media. I don't editorialize much, just collect the sources and make them available with a short summary. open.substack.com/pub/thetreel...
