Any #rstats people with thoughts?
New post. You built an ML model with {tidymodels} that you want automated in Dagster. Engineering's reply: "Sorry, we need this rewritten in Python to deploy." No more. With the {dagsterpipes} R package, you can run R code in Dagster with full observability. #rstats

nightmare for me
There is a class of LLM critique I find impossible to take seriously. It goes like this:
If left unchecked, a car will drive straight into anything in front of it.
No shit, Sherlock. Let's do better at critique.
I'm mad that I can't go left and right at the stop sign
I can only imagine what Donnie will do to prevent this. If his inner circle allows any truth in, he sees the writing on the wall. This is a dangerous time to have petulant 15-year-old man at the helm, especially one whose wet dream is to nuke something before he dies.
just made it 1001
i link to their transcript and it links to their youtube video. i recommend watching that. seeing them talk about it gives a better impression of their surprise at various capabilities they discovered
7 articles in this week's update, but 2 are striking. Stanford professor James Zou built a virtual lab of #AI scientist agents, and the company, Every, gave each employee a personal AI agent. Two very different worlds. They both find ways to build trust.

Come hang out with me and Joe Roberts on the 14th! We'll demo how to keep your agents in check.
i'm big fan of yazi. i'm usually in cmux and will have a split with yazi on the left and claude code on the right

Continuity + Optimism = The Builders
Continuity + Pessimism = The Institutionalists
Discontinuity + Optimism = The Navigators
Discontinuity + Pessimism = The Existentialists
Where are you? www.thetreeline.pub/p/my-ai-risk...
Here is how I am thinking about #AI risk. I had messy thoughts and needed to untangle them and apply some structure. If that's you, too, this may help. open.substack.com/pub/thetreel...
so looking forward this. two rock stars
i am happy there is a jeremy in space right now and i listen to the live feed so i can hear mission control repeatedly call my name, ask me to troubleshoot things, and thank me for my good work, aparaently i just fixed some national geographic equipment, good job me
a couple of weeks ago while on zoom I looked out my window to see two red-shouldered #hawks mating. then again a week later. with binoculars i recently found their nest. now i look forward to watch baby hawks grow up this summer!!!!!!!! and meetings are less boring now

why are you trying to stop my heart?
amen
The best book I've never read is If Anyone Builds It, Everyone Dies by Eliezer Yudkowsky & Nate Soares.
I encourage all authors to put their main point right in the title or within the first five pages. Please. This is so nice for readers.
(fwiw, I bought the book and I will actually read it)
vibe it up!
or maybe `style` in the .yaml could point to a brand.yml
could it get some details from brand.yml, like bananarama(path = "bananarama.yaml", output_dir = NULL, force = FALSE, brand_yaml = NULL)?
I am still logging AI's transformation of work. The log is a quiet place, absent the noise of social media. I don't editorialize much, just collect the sources and make them available with a short summary. open.substack.com/pub/thetreel...
and just add more to it!
don't forget #databs
i'm pretty sure ALL the goldfinches are at my house
