Good morning walk on the patch, first Swallow of the year, first sedgie, first Whitethroat and patch first grasshopper warbler ever

Plenty of Blackcaps out this morning, marsh harrier at Twitchers gate and sand Martins everywhere. Merlin picked up a Whitethroat, but I'm not buying it, more likely a blackcap trying to learn a foreign language, also suspected Sedgie warming up its lungs

Why a LW? Are Dorgu and Cunha not good enough? Money better spent elsewhere

Trying to work out where the media outrage has gone with regards to Govt joining an unsanctioned war with two war criminals, surely parliament has a say in this?

The only way to deal with the politics of immigration is to be straight with people.

We need migration for our economy, health and public services. Migrants already make an enormous contribution. That should be the starting point.

Instead, concede to the far right then concede again and again.

More importantly for my sanity, progressives 40%, far right 23%, well beaten!

Sorry not blaming Starmer for any of that, the tories and reform are responsible for most of it, and Mandelson being foolish enough to befriend Epstein is not on Starmer, it was in the early 2000s. Starmer just fell for his bs

I have no idea why I'm defending him, there are others far better, just sick of the merry go roung

I'd pretty much say yes it's that low, don't get me wrong, he has pretty much got every major call wrong, made even simple decisions turn into major headaches, bit there is stuff he is getting right GB energy, employment rights etc

I agree to an extent, but get rid and we ho through it again in a year or 2, everytime an unpopular decision creates a media pile on, stop pandering to the populists and govern for the good of the country

The only reason I don't want Starmer to go is because I'm fed up of the whole Westminster psychodrama, we just want stability. A poor reason, I know

Do you, like me, wake up most mornings from a fitful sleep, wondering what King Donald the Mad has said or done overnight?

It's exhausting.

Frightening ordeal as Sky News team forced into cars and camera seized - with dissent in China rising dramatically Protests are difficult to document and often quickly shut down, but data suggests incidents are rising, and the majority are due to economic grievances.

news.sky.com/story/china-... we highlight this, and rightly so, but is it any different to the US, open dissent shut down immediately, govt thugs bullying any act against the great leader

I have a fever dream, of the US in 6 years time, with the 21st century Nuremburg trials, with Trump and his henchmen on trial for their lives as the American people hold them to account

As an aside, this is obviously the deep influence the UK now has post brexit, as described by Farage, Johnson et al

The only way this stops is if the US military say 'no more', sadly, the mistaken belief that they serve the office rather than the person will ensure that this won't happen. Or maybe the rest of the world can sanction the US, that would be an interesting line of attack

The Convicted Felon who has taken at least three cognitive exams & falls asleep during official meetings just bombed Venezuela and kidnapped its leader.

You would hope, but I don't see anyone taking the lead, Macron? Mertz? Starmer? Maloni?

What we need to see is Starmer and all of his European counterparts condemn the actions of the rogue US regime, won't happen, but it is what is needed for Europe to start believing in itself again

Not only on BlueSky, but also other platforms, I have noticed so many people wishing for peace and love in 2026, people are sick of hate and division, let's make this year about celebrating our commonality

Sign the petition to end peat sales! No more delays: Let's get peat out of gardens once and for all. The time for uncertainty has ended.

It's ridiculous that the Government *still* haven't banned the sale of peat.

Peat bogs are still getting dug up and used for compost and in horticulture. Ministers say they'll ban it 'when time allows'.

Get on with it already! Sign the petition:

In the summer I wrote to @Keir Starmer
to ask that Reform have some
representation in the House of Lords,

He didn't give me the courtesy of a
response, despite Reform winning the
elections in May.

This makes me more determined to
smash the political establishment than
ever

Nothing says "smash the political establishment" quite like begging the Prime Minister to put your mates in the unelected House of Lords.

A screenshot of a post from the account fesshole but from another social media. It is black text on a white background in a square box. The text says:
“I live in wales and today received my join us letter from Reform UK, complete with SAE which I posted back to them, immediately, empty. If every other person in Wales did this, Reform would spend £1.5 million on postage. Not sorry. Join me Cymru. “

@fesshole.bsky.social posts tickle me silly, but sometimes they also give very sound advice

Or is it the FIFA world cup committee all trying to pull Infantino's head out of Trump's arse?

I feel your pain, only worsened if, coming home drunk with a kebab, dog troughs the lot while you're asleep then craps all over the kitchen floor, you discover it next morning as it seeps between your toes!
