I just can't wrap my head around this. So our MLLs are just supposed to acquire a new language by osmosis? What is the thinking here? #EduSky #EAL #ELLchat #MLLs

What I wouldn't give to be able to go back in time and see this!

I have yet to type either 'language' or 'acquisition' correctly on the first try, which is... inconvenient for an EAL teacher. Perhaps I need a manual typewriter?

Her essays are also amazing - and I never understood the Harry Potter mania when the Earthsea books are so much better.

I went through the exact same thought process. ("Wait, someone used the word computer in the script? was it in relation to the alarm clock?) and then realizing that 'just for fun' easily outruns 'I don't think' in the cavalcade of daily horrors.

Some days my brain feels like it ricochets from one terrible news story to another. It is indeed 'woeโ€™s scene, worldโ€™s shame...Brief abstract and record of tedious days.'

What's the collective noun for knitters? A skein (?) of #melttheice hat makers came out on a rainy morning to protest an ICE lease in Chester County.

Or perhaps they were just stage managers in a former life? I certainly don't have 'exceptional impulse control', 'consistent self discipline' or 'mastered anxiety management', but I'm a no doubt annoying 30 minutes early to everything. If I'm not half an hour early, I feel like I'm an hour late.

My 2nd #melttheicehat was also too big, but felted/shrunk nicely. I ran into at least 10 other hat makers! (And yes, citing sources on your poster seems to be a 'tell me you're a teacher without telling me' move - lots of other teachers commented ๐Ÿ˜„)
