A bookcase filled with books by Stephen King, J.R.R. Tolkien, and other authors piled with no clear organization.
Hello Friday. Let's talk about the importance of books. As you can see, one of my bookcases is a bit chaotic. Books can be chaotic and messy and challenge ideas. Casual reads are fun, but books that test our vision of the world are also important. They are vital.
My mom had this same reaction to the Golden Compass and I like to think that that is what kickstarted my questioning of the church: “How is a book about polar bears in armor against god?”
So instead, I just went with a milder read by Richard Dawkins.
We learn to read so we can read to learn. 🫳🎤
