So many social platforms! Whatever happened to loudly and drunkenly blurting out personal details at the pub? 🍻

I think your videos are the one thing I genuinely miss from Twitland.

A path by a step. There is ivy on the path, and several holes have been scraped in the ground.

The badgers have been digging for buried treasure outside my front door.

Yep, about a decade ago. Cut off, stone cold. It shouldn’t still affect me of course, but it does. Time has just meant I think about it less.

#SmallBeautiesHour remembering without a reminder! Wild garlic sprouting and picked some for an omlette for dinner, elf cups and spring flowers, blue skies after so much rain, chat with a neighbour and a nice sit down with a cuppa after a busy day.

I love huge swathes of wild garlic! 😍
(Also yay Lupin!)

I haven’t even included all the great pianists/composers I love because that would be a looong list.

Cookiecutter sharks:
0/5⭐️
Best not. Place at the back of a kitchen drawer where they will be rediscovered some years later. One will be missing.

Bullhead sharks:
2/5⭐️
Pretty but unbalanced. Try the shot-putting technique. Don’t drop on foot.

Weasel sharks:
5/5⭐️
They didn’t do anything to you! Give them a little kiss and gently lob out to sea.

Hammerhead sharks:
4/5⭐️
Grab either side of the cephalofoil (the “hammer”) and yeet up over your head like swinging a weight up over a bar. Get out from under before it lands on you.

Sleeper sharks:
0/5⭐️
Respect your elders and get off their lawn.

Thresher sharks:
5/5⭐️
Grab quickly by the upper caudal fin lobe (eye protection is advised) and whirl around head before launching. One to three whirls only please, no grandstanding.

Whale and basking sharks:
0/5⭐️
Far too big and heavy. Take lots of photos instead and post them on Instagram.

Great white sharks:
3/5⭐️
Wait for them to breach and “thwong” them away with an outsized tennis racquet. Like tiger sharks they are also really heavy so make sure it is a sturdy racquet.

Goblin sharks:
1/5⭐️
Lure into the airlock and blast into space. Get a chest x-ray.

Tiger sharks:
2/5⭐️
Heavy, so limber up. Maybe enlist the help of a friend. Check to see it hasn’t gobbled your family silver or prized heirlooms before launching.

Carpet sharks:
5/5⭐️
Gently hoover, being careful of any fringes. Roll up and launch out to sea.

Stingrays:
1/5⭐️
Nudge only from the head end. A metal binlid is your friend here. Don’t try to get clever.

Reef sharks:
3/5⭐️
Skittish and hard to grab. Recommend using the notch on the upper caudal fin lobe for the best purchase. Lean back and hurl the shark forwards like a disgruntled javelin.

Rays, other than electric rays and stingrays:
5/5⭐️
Grasp edge of fish and skim outwards over the waves. One point per bounce.

Electric rays:
4/5⭐️
Same but don a thick pair of marigolds first. Isolate at the circuit breaker for safety.

Disclaimer: This is not serious. I am not actually advocating the hurling or any sort of rough treatment of these beautiful creatures that we are lucky enough to share the planet with. Obvs.

Inspired by franzanth.bsky.social guide to responsible bug-yeeting I thought I’d create one for sharks and rays, for those times when you might find one pootling about by the coast or splashing around in your bathtub.

There are a *lot* of sharks and rays so feel free to add your favourites.
