Demand down in some sectors. Every stage of manufacturing hasn't gotten cheaper, might be the same or more expensive in some stages. The last couple of disasters that set things back I feel still resonate a little. But the primary markets seem mass storage, surveillance, etc

I don't have a Mendel built at the moment but I do have a bigbox. Here it is printing makerchips.
Has a certain flexibility, for a US example, Letter and Legal sizes can come from the same roll. Paper wise I would assume rolls are not space efficient given the volume that is the inner core.
Day 2 of @3dprintopia.bsky.social is in the books. With the power fixed and me having a chance to catch up on all the things I wasn't prepared for we at least got most of the top front row running. Sorry to anyone I couldn't give enough time to, especially on my hectic day one.
Come see us this weekend September 27th and 28th at @3dprintopia.bsky.social in Bel Air, Maryland.
All setup for this year's @3dprintopia.bsky.social Be sure to come say hi and check out the printers.
Yeah it's going really well right now lol...
Seems like I forgot to edit the tag on that post but @3dprintopia.bsky.social for good measure.
Want to see the printers I've posted these last 19 days. See all of these and more ready to print live at @3DPrintopia less than 7 days from now. The only real limit is how much electricity I can pump into the booth!
Bonus photos if you are curious how I brought it back. If you take the top plate off the frame it's carry-on sized! Unfortunately HNL airport checkpoint 3 is only operating 2D X-ray so I had to remove my clothes it was back with and rerun it through security.
Countdown to @3dprintopia.bsky.social Day 19. I am currently on a plane flying back with this Makergear M2 Rev A that has had a 24v, Rambo 1.3 & Dual Extruder Upgrade in its lifetime. I have to imagine it's the last printer I acquire before the event so group photos, booth info is next up.
Countdown to @3dprintopia.bsky.social Day 18. The latest in my collection is this Lulzbot Taz 6. Not something I was after but its nice to have next to the 4 & 5. A Mini would probably round out this end of the collection. But before I leave Hawaii I'm probably buying another old printer.
Countdown to @3dprintopia.bsky.social Day 17 still Hawaii Standard Time. My fourth and final Makerbot Replicator 1 is this single toolhead model I bought for $31. The others are duals so this mixes things up at an inexpensive price. Long term parts donors are also important.
Countdown to @3dprintopia.bsky.social Day 16. Later than usual post it's still only 7pm in Hawaii. This Printrbot Plus is my third of the brand. Like the simple it has a Rev D board. I picked this up in Front Royal Virginia and got it printing recently.
Countdown to @3dprintopia.bsky.social Day 15. The second Printrbot in the collection was this Simple 2014 model. The previous owner changed the line drive to a belt drive. Seems to have a bit of issues with Z binding/wobble. The RevD is a tight squeeze but can run Marlin 2.1.x or Klipper.
Countdown to @3dprintopia.bsky.social Day 14. On my way home from buying a Monoprice Mini Delta the seller informed me he probably should have given me this Solidoodle 2. Weeks later I went back for it. Its currently a project. I've added a 24v heater but it'll be a mess at the show.
More photos. Here it is after someone handed it to me. The test print I did at the hotel. Finally sitting in the truck I rode home in. I have since written @marlinfw.org and Klipper configs for it.
Countdown to @3dprintopia.bsky.social Day 13. This Makergear M2 is quite a bit newer than the original 2012 version. But its a fun one for people who have never seen a bed slinger that raises on Z. I moved this printer during an office move last year but later got it during the decommission
Countdown to @3dprintopia.bsky.social Day 12. I avoided it for so long but earlier this year I bought my first printrbot. This simple metal came out of Philadelphia for $10 and now runs @marlinfw.org 2.1.3 Beta 3. Banana for scale.
Bonus picture. This was it printing back before we changed the extruders. They were difficult to load and he was frustrated. I offered to trade him a Creator Pro for it but it took me awhile to find one so we swapped the Creator Pro extruders in for easy loading first.
Countdown to @3dprintopia.bsky.social Day 11. 8th in my collection and 3rd Replicator is the one I rebuilt for someone I met at 3D Printopia in 24. His desire to use the machine helped me learn to put @marlinfw.org on it. In the end we put FlashForge MK10 toolheads in it with part cooling.
Yes. I still haven't put a 2/2X in my collection so I can take a crack at that version but earlier this year I added the OG Replicator to the Marlin config repo.
Bonus photos the carry-on in question and the original box which I checked with my clothes inside of it lol.
Countdown to @3dprintopia.bsky.social Day 10. 7th in my collection & 2nd Replicator. Original owner Nick Margarone from the Brick Drone Kickstarter used it to start a company. I flew this back from Florida disassembled in my carry-on. It now runs Marlin 2.1.2.5.
Countdown to @3dprintopia.bsky.social Day 9. The 6th classic in my collection and second Ultimaker is this UMO+. The previous owner was gifted it by Ultimaker at an event. The UMO was a great printer for it's time and the heated bed is a must have upgrade that the UMO+ came with stock.
Countdown to @3dprintopia.bsky.social Day 8. This Makerbot Thing-O-Matic just arrived. Includes the belted automated build plate. Everything seems functional. I tore it down, cleaned it up and all that's needed is a bit of cable wrap.
Countdown to @3dprintopia.bsky.social Day 7. The 5th classic in my collection a @lulzbot3d.bsky.social Taz4 was brought to last year's event by MattsPrintables from a person in the Voron discord. I have seen gone through this printer but I dont seem to have taken many pics. Dual Budaschnozzles!
Countdown to @3dprintopia.bsky.social Day 6 I'm late again. The 4th in my collection of classics is the @e3donline.bsky.social BigBox. Seen last year with Georgia and David who later put me in touch with designer Greg Holloway. It now runs and hopefully will spit out some makerchips for me.
Countdown to @3dprintopia.bsky.social Day 5. The third classic in the collection was a Lulzbot Taz 5 with dual extruder. I don't seem to have any good shots and it's in my cube waiting for the event. So here's a photo of the extruder.
Countdown to @3dprintopia.bsky.social Day 4, posting a bit late. This near mint Makerbot Replicator was the second classic in my collection. This was at the show last year and triggered some events that caused my collection to grow massively this following year.
