Office of the day was in lovely Bern ! Very thankful for the valuable feedback I received at the Brown Bag Seminar of the @wti.bsky.social ! I presented a (very) preliminary version of a project on trade and humanitarian aid in South Sudan.
Currently in Lusaka with @theigc.bsky.social Zambia Evidence Lab, studying how firms adapted to having only a few hours of electricity per day since 2024. Some effects I hadn't imagined : unironed suits in clothing shops, betting machines stopping mid-game, and restaurants reduced to serving drinks.
#rstats has pipes (|>), but maybe we need other plumbing functionality, like:
-A 'tap' (🚰) operator that allows us to turn code blocks on and off;
-A u-bend function that automatically removes extreme outliers; and
-A drainage function that deletes temporary objects and unloads unused packages

Look, obviously my emotional reaction to that press conference is to punch a wall so hard either it or my knuckles break.
But let put that on hold for a moment and ask, very dispassionately and calmly:
