Other fun animal encounters at work:
1) Deer
2) Groundhogs nesting by the path to the hospital
3) Hawk nesting above said same path (leading to a temporary wooden tunnel to defend walkers from protective dive bombings, and maybe why we have no more groundhogs)
4) The ever-spooky crow roost

Incredible @throwingmuses.bsky.social show tonight.
So then I got this idea about driving a cheesecake truck....
I've been in practice for 25 years. I've never treated a case of Hib meningitis but the docs who trained me had horror stories about it. It's unimaginable that we would shrug off the benefits of vaccination to return to that time.
Lucky to work closely with a couple of these great docs specifically in teaching med students about caring for at-risk communities. www.penbaypilot.com/article/six-...
Oh, and by the way, if you are in the Boston area and want to make human castles check out the Castellers de Boston here: www.instagram.com/castellersde...
And by chance in that show saw locals Rejekts for the 2nd time in 2 weeks, first seeing them open for Snooper and The Spits, and since I didn't post about that excellent show at the time it seemed like a sign to post now.
Unusually busy (and music-filled) weekend with
1) Downtown Boys Friday
2) Sat AM Mobile Market with #GLFHC and #GBFB
3) #NoKings with Dropkick Murphys
4) Sunday practice for #CastellersdeBoston
5)Closing out with a 4-band show topped off by Taqbir (Moroccan punk via BCN)
Ready for the week! 1/
Way too long since I've seen @downtownboys.bsky.social who were amazing tonight. Only bad thing is that now I have to wait until June for the new album.
I don't mind telling you it's a suspicious amount of sandals.
When my now late-teen was around that age she started using an all-one-word "Whattaheck?" Not sure where it came from but we adopted it and use it to this day.
Great summary of the impacts of policy changes based on falsehoods about immigrants and Medicaid. I would add that these changes will also threaten the viability of the health care safety net in communities with large immigrant populations, which will hurt access for everyone.

Thinking of this guy today for no particular reason
From this moment forward (and before, but clearly now):
-If you work for ICE.
-If you vote for money for ICE.
You are complicit. This is the gestapo. You're on the wrong side. You can't pretend not to know.
@whipkclark.bsky.social
If you have not seen Downtown Boys before (or even if you have!) do yourself a favor and see them whenever you can. I'll be checking out Deep Cuts for the first time.
Reached out to my reps yesterday. It doesn't take long.
As a constituent I appreciate the work you are doing, but justice requires accountability. How about co-sponsoring Rep. Kelly's resolution?
Listen to Big Black with your children.

There are still a few days left to provide comments on this proposed rule change, which will be harmful to many of our patients and their families. Comments close 12/19 www.regulations.gov/document/USC....

Second Thanksgiving today followed by a walk at @massaudubon.org Habitat Sanctuary with some new friends.
The CCCC (the coordinating organization for castellers groups in Catalonia) officially recognizes international groups--Boston among them!
