Know someone who’s dreading 2025? Please don’t wait for them to reach out. Instead ‘reach in’ to them. It may be hard to do, but also the most important conversation for both of you. If your patient has a very obvious, painful, traumatic injury, give them analgesia. Give them proper doses & give it early.

Yes, even if they aren't screaming.

Don't let people suffer quietly.

Compassionate listening, validation and sitting with another person’s pain enables them to share their reasons for dying - so we then earn the right to share authentic hope and talk about reasons for living #SuicidePrevention

Bullying & harassment costs NHS £2 billion annually. Shocking but sadly unsurprising. The hesitation to call out racism, compared to sexism, shows the urgent need for antiracism & compassionate leadership as it saves costs & lives
