Yes, I would personally not consider CR appropriate for younger kids. The Re-Slayer’s Take is CR’s family-friendly d&d podcast. Would recommend, though the episodes don’t include all the game mechanics, but do give a good sense of what playing feels like.
This needs to ring an alarm bell in all our associations.

interesting, though it sounds a bit too much like effective altruism for me

This is amazing! I hope it goes well, it really sounds like it is.
Listening to @jovanevery.bsky.social’s Spotlight On: Dystopia, Uncertainty & Disruption is what is getting me through these times
I get asked to do things for my field relatively infrequently, which makes saying “no” that much harder. Still gotta do it though 😐
That’s lovely! I feel like I had that version. I recognized it immediately.

I have an advent challenge for exhausted academics.
Take time each day to rest.
If 5 minutes is a challenge for you, then start there. I challenge you to take 20 minutes. You can work up to it.
Use a timer so you don't worry about how long it's been.
You can do this badly. Please try.
same, really.

Hi! I’m only *starting* to write a novel (which is I know the same thing as writing it, but really this idea is in its infancy). Makes me happy at least. 😊
back on here after a long break; excited for the increased activity. Can’t wait to chat about books and African studies. Also I might be writing a novel?
