We are seeking interns to join our fieldwork at the Zator fishponds in Poland 🇵🇱. We have been studying this Whiskered tern population for many years, and this season we will focus on breeding success🪺, avian ageing, and colony formation. More details below ⬇️

Starting in 1865 with 🧐 Count Kazimierz Wodzicki’s bird collection 🐦🦜, they now hold over 2.5 million specimens—from tiny insects 🦟 to majestic mammals 🦣. The star? 🤩 The only complete woolly rhinoceros 🦏 in the world, excavated in Starunia, astonishingly preserved for 30,000 years!

On 15.09-03.10, our 🦏 Institute hosted Adam Heteš from Comenius University, Slovakia @comeniusuni.bsky.social. Our visitor verified 4000(!) out of 7000 specimens of Jurassic crabs 🦀 from southern Poland, and most probably found a new species! The study is to be continued, stay tuned!
