Chaotic evil as well.
Does the windmill spin the wrong way ?
Lots of new followers!
For you : my most important stump:
To get Valve to let indies maintain a fanbase across/over/ in between games. The follower functionality is now useless, but letting us create long lasting communities players on steam is the one solution for indie sustainability I have.
Finding a good gamedev coworking space did wonders
Same same
Friends, I am looking for new opportunities as a Game Producer, preferably remote!
Please let me know if you know of any available roles, or freelance projects that need a producer/PM. Website with all relevant links is in my bio (and is my handle).
Reposts are incredibly appreciated!
The factorio must grow
GPC and EPC are defo on that 'GDC replacement' list :)
Ten people are sitting in front of large red arcade buttons in the main atrium of the Forum building in Groningen. In front of them is a large screen that has the lobby of Autogame Deluxe on. Around the players are more people standing and watching or visiting the Forum. All ten cars on the large screen are selected and in the center of the screen it says "Get Ready"
Autogame Deluxe has been in development for over 10 years now.
"Is the game THAT big?!" well no, but stuff happens.
I started the prototype when I was still a dev duo with @thomasjager.nl.
Since then, I've added and removed soo much. People say "make a lot of small games", well this can work too...🧵
Never managed to truly understand quaternions (can use them just fine) so for a decade i tried to make Euler angles and mat4x4 work, what a waste of time. Still I'm not comfortable with having this system in my code that i don't truly understand, but it sure makes for shorter and faster solutions.
If aras for whatever reason stops with the gamedev mastodon it is all gone too.
Shame how linode akamai keeps increasing the price on my VPS servers, time to move, used them for over a decade.. shame
Reminder, if you start your own lil company, you get to spend a weekend once in a while doing accounting every quarter.
Trying to do additive animations in my project and the bugs are mind bending
Ha, same, age does that
Well i'm looking at it as a mid(?)career indie that is looking to make another game. Tried paying folk and quickly burned away all my reserves, couldn't get a publisher to actually fork over money, so revshare seems to only path open. all the titles i worked on that succeeded were revshare too..
I failed myself at it, or i don't have a decent project ofc.
How do folks feel about revshare gamedev projects this decade ? Given that publisher are less likely to fund a project.
faked directional lighting ;)
Stumbled upon a technique that is new to me to speed up a deferred renderer and it worked really well, and later found this article explaining the principles filmicworlds.com/blog/visibil... allowing me to skip the depth prepass
Leaving you 29.4%, fun
Why does your game cost so much?
Ha that's cool, where did you find it ?
Pretty, where is that ?
Probably not very efficient use of dev time, but feel that if you make an online-only game that you shouldn't outsource those parts to a 3-rd party.
