Does anybody have a favourite open-source Documentation platform they're using these days?
MK Docs / Read The Docs feel tired, and I really don't want to build + design my own system (...again ๐

New blog post: Reprojecting Dual Fisheye Videos to Equirectangular (LG 360)

I still use my obsolete LG 360 Camera. When copying MP4 videos from its SD card, they come out in "Dual Fisheye" format - โฆ
I'm not joking when I say mRNA technology is more important than "AI" and it's a tragedy we're throwing billions into one while our government is aggressively defunding the other.
Ah, I see it's time for another round of "AGI is just around the corner" wank for the next 3 weeks ๐ซ
And in that vein, I made this: github.com/javorszky/en...
Because it solves a problem for me and it was easier to build than to research and figure out whether another tool already exists. And I think it's neat.
I once nearly fell foul of the exact same thing early on in my career. Mercifully, the messages didn't pop up in front of the client, but in the prep just before the meeting. I've never updated a codebase so quickly in my life ๐
Ever since then I've debugged things with fruit + vegetable names ๐๐๐ฅ๐ง
Someone casually dropped a full mesh-connected multiplayer first-person-shooter for the @emfcamp.bsky.social badge, with procedurally generated map of the campsite. Wtf.

Legit happy because this week Google changed something about the default stock TV launcher (to give it more ads) and I finally went through the steps to entirely remove their advert sponsor billboard launcher.
And just have you know. My apps - the things I watch on TV.
2013 me implementing something in JavaScript which 2026 me just replaced with 5 lines of CSS.

Ditto. Sorry! ๐
I will always be increasingly annoyed that JS library developers abandoned making their scripts easily useable via <script> tag vs. npm/some bundler trash.
Maybe in the old days, but that sort of project doesn't spark joy in me these days ๐
Would be quite funny if someone used Qwen voice cloning on a Neo to put Ive on there ๐
The MacBook Neo introduction video feels... playful(!)
And that's something that I've been desperately missing from tech for the last 10 years. Wouldn't it be lovely if we started to enjoy using tech again instead of worrying how it's going to replace us all?

I switched from Chrome to Vivaldi this morning as part of a wider decision to use less US-based technology.
I expected some friction switching browsers for the first time in ~15 years, but I've already forgotten that I'm not using Chrome.
Marvellous ๐ช๐บ
You can throw away innerHTML and replace it with the new setHTML(), which has a built-in sanitizer. Here's how it works:
I believe in the web, I believe in craft, and I believe in the things we can build by supporting each other โ never has that spirit felt more threatened by the _industry_.
If you feel the same way: support independent publishers.
Keep building, keep improving, and keep sharing, in your own voice.
We've had LLMs for 3+ years, and *still* nobody has built a Talkie Toaster? ๐
Shame on us all, why do we even bother? ๐

I'm sick of Doom Scrolling and I'm sick of shadowy algorithms trying to hijack my mood for ad dollars ๐
So, I've built UpBeat to try and tackle all of that, and give people back the control over what they want to see. ๐
Check it out! โจ
