Female scientists have to wait longer for their articles to be reviewed than their male colleagues. An analysis of 36.5 million papers in the life sciences shows that for females it took 115 days to reach a decision, compared to 101 days for men journals.plos.org/plosbiology/... @plosbiology.org

What researchers have discovered about maternal, infant health under Texas' abortion laws In the more than four years since the state of Texas significantly restricted access to abortion, medical researchers have been studying the health effects of that policy change.

A growing body of research indicates that Texas's restrictive abortion bans have negatively impacted the health and lives of Texas women and babies in multiple ways. Across the board, pregnancy outcomes and complications have worsened.

Eliminating requirements for a doctorate, residency, licencing exams, thousands of hours of clinical training, and dropping to a two year unaccredited program. Would we be ok if this happened to physicians? #PsychSky #ClinicalPsychology #Psychology @cmadocs.bsky.social @canadianpsychology.bsky.social

I’m looking for #adjunct instructors for graduate clinical child psychology courses at PAU. For accreditation, you would need to teach in person in Palo Alto. It’s a great way to built teaching experience with a very engaged cohort. Reach out with questions!

Can the human sciences exist w/out the human? Proposals for using AI as human research subjects suggest yes. If any of my students would rather learn from a LLM than me, they are welcome to. I suspect few would pick that option, though.

I have long complained about the absence of ‘interoception’ from Microsoft Word’s internal dictionary, but today I would also -shockingly- like to highlight the absence of ‘orgasm’. New paper (with many unrecognized words) coming soon.

There is a long and misguiding history of blaming mothers for autism. Unfortunately these accounts still hold appeal for many despite the science.
