*hugs* I have an asthma flare-up closed by coughing through a bout of reflux last night and I totally feel this chain of maladies.
SO tired after 3 full days; if I crawled into bed now I'd be out until morning. But AMC is showing The Martian, which is one of my poppy fields movies. Nothing to it but to science the shit out of this like a space pirate.
I have rules like that too and when I finally break down and turn on the AC the relief is so sweet! Also I recently learned it uses less energy than heating so I feel better about using it, if that helps.
Thanks for posting the stats!
I thought about putting antlers on the wolf to make it grown up Twig, but it was a little beyond my skill set.
As a cradle Catholic who walked away bc of the abuse & misogyny & the hard turn to the right, I find the people who embraced that version of the church so weird and hilarious. I am cheering for Leo and his bear-poking.
A cross stitch depicting the Greek goddess Gaia, holding the Earth. An urn with a vine is on her left.
A cross stitch depicting a woman with blue hair in a traditional Ukrainian dress. An owl is on her shoulder and her other hand rests on a large grey wolf. A tree on the left arches over her head.
I keep forgetting to post my finishes (not that I’ve had a ton lately!), so here are a forest goddess (hair changed to blue b/c niece thought she looked like Hilda) and Gaia. Both patterns by Quaternion Creations.
As the Integrity crew splashed down TO THE MINUTE of their estimated arrival and hit the BULLSEYE, this is a reminder that Katherine Johnson was an absolute genius. My God. #NASA #ArtemisII
I'm moonscrolling
Trying to explain to 10yo Magpie why this splashdown is a trauma release. "Um...I just care a lot about science and space, okay?"

Kīlauea is currently producing quite the fountain with copious ash and bombs (aka tephra). You can check out the livestream here: www.youtube.com/watch?v=gXKu...
Viral photo from some years back of a man nonchalantly mowing his yard with a tornado on the horizon .
How it feels doing literally any task right now.
That is just gorgeous!!
“Everyone in this picture.” #Artemis
This. It feels like I've tunneled to a past version of me that didn't experience the last decade, and I want to switch places with them
Oh my gd, the Artemis II crew doing a parody of a bad 1980s sitcom intro from in space.

Listening to the #Artemis crew geek out over the Moon & what this means--Christina, Jeremy, Victor, Reid-- #NASA & #CSA , you picked the right people. (I may be crying over all this; it may be because my tax nightmare appears to be over? maybe? 🤞. It may be both. Gonna make brownies to celebrate.)
“Copy Moon joy” #Artemis
I go there and do that often.
SAY HER NAME. DAWN STALEY. (No I don’t know why I’m here—this isn’t usually my lane. But what he did was so blatant and this apology is so weak. It’s like he thinks we’re the dummies and it’s the 1960s or something.)
STOP ERASING WOMEN'S ACHIEVEMENTS. DAWN STALEY AND THE SOUTH CAROLINA GAMECOCKS SHOWED RESILIENCE AND EXCELLENCE ON THE COURT LAST NIGHT. INSTEAD OF FOCUSING ON A MAN'S MELTDOWN, CELEBRATE BLACK WOMEN LEADING AND WINNING. #NCAAWBB #SOUTHCAROLINA
So my immediate reaction this was “What did that jerk do NOW?” What he did was appalling. Who he thought he could mess with is hysterical. May he sleep on a bed of Legos for the rest of his miserable life.
A full disc image of Earth, as seen from the Orion Crew Module. The planet is a pale blue, swirling with white clouds and glowing slightly lighter blue in place from reflected light. At lower left, a large brown landmass is Africa, with Spain and Portugal with twinkling lights where the planet curves. At top right, auroras glow in a thin green glow, just barely separated from the planet's surface. Earth is set against the black of space (pic: NASA/R.Wiseman)
More context on this #Artemis II image:
* This is the night side, lit by moonlight. You can see city lights in Spain & Portugal, & a sliver of day at lower right
* The Sun is entirely behind Earth, which makes it a kind of solar eclipse, but w/ Earth doing the eclipsing instead of the Moon:
☀️🌍🚀🌕
Paraphrasing Dr. Lori Glaze--now that #ArtemisII has fired the TLI burn, they don't have other engines pushing to the Moon and back to Earth--it's all physics. It astonishes me that the stuff I taught 4th graders (model rockets, marble coasters, etc.) is what takes us on these adventures.
About 13 minutes to go; you can see the live feed at www.nasa.gov
Now that we had that spectacular launch, follow the Artemis II Orion capsule in real time here:

Come on, journalists. It’s crewed, not manned.
It’s 2026.
