Im very fortunate that the nursing staff and a social worker all advocated hard for me, but I wont lie I likely will never seek out assistance again unless its fully under my controlled enviroment. I walked out of that hospital more traumatized than I was going in.

To be clear - even my nurse who did all my hands on care thought it was bhllshit. I was calm, lucid, voiced that I didnt wanna hurt myself, dont do drugs, and genuinely just wanted advice on resources for low income mental health help.

And they kept for 24 hrs because I *could* become unreasonable

I now understand why people refuse to find mental health help I went into the ER for a headache I had for 2 weeks, said i wanted to talk to someone about getting help with outpatient mental health care, and ended up on an involuntary hold because I briefly cried for 2 minutes from pain and stress.

Between you and me and this very public platform, I also think I was right 🙂‍↕️
