Negative Burn #30 (Caliber). Standouts were "The Ritual" by Stefan Petrucha and Grant Fuhst (a bizarre, wordless tale of, well, some sort of ritual, pictured here) and part 1 of "No Regrets" by Jeff Nicholson (ex-bandmates meet in a shared dream). #negativeburn #calibercomics #caliberpress #comicsky

Journey #12 (Aardvark-Vanaheim). Story was just picking up and then BAM I have a gap! Desperately seeking #13 and #14 to round out the AV years before the switch to Fantagraphics. #williammessnerloebs #aardvarkvanaheim #comicsky
Journey #11 (Aardvark-Vanaheim). This cover is just goddamn gorgeous. I was really hoping Josh and Sally would get together, but I suppose Old Joss will just need to survive in the wilderness until next Spring to find his way back to her. #williammessnerloebs #aardvarkvanaheim #comicsky
Negative Burn #29 (Caliber). "The Replacement God" story was beautifully illustrated, but tonally uneven. This issue's "The Creep" story by @philhester.bsky.social was weird as hell (how I like it). Oh, and some @nat.gertler.com with "The Factor"! #negativeburn #calibercomics #caliberpress #comicsky
Strangers In Paradise Vol. 2 TPB "I Dream of You" (Abstract Studio). An absolutely fantastic book. One of the shops I frequent has ten or more volumes of this in stock and I'm tempted to grab them all. This really is perfect. #strangersinparadise #terrymoore #abstractstudio #comicsky
Journey #10 (Aardvark-Vanaheim). Oldjoss is really in his feels here, lusting after Sparrowdark in his dreams. I think it's only a matter of time until they "physically connect," so to speak. #aardvarkvanaheim #williammessnerloebs #comicsky
Journey #9 (Aardvark-Vanaheim). Josh and Crawfish battle the elements, namely ice water under a frozen lake! This back cover is most intriguing; gotta get my hands on a copy of "Bunny of Death" (Just Imagine Comics & Stories #9). #williammessnerloebs #aardvarkvanaheim #comicsky
Journey #3 (Aardvark-Vanaheim). An absolutely gorgeous cover. In this issue, Old Joss spins a yarn about a run-in with some sasquatches, who speak Sauk, with a hint of Inuit. Whodathunk? Glad to fill this gap in my collection; now to find #13 and #14. #williammessnerloebs #aardarkvanaheim #comicsky
Negative Burn #28 (Caliber). While I'm less familiar with Tank Girl, I swore this cover and the "Dusty Star" story was by the same artist. Turns out they were done by Andrew Robinson whose work rules. Need to find more (and more Tank Girl). #negativeburn #calibercomics #caliberpress #comicsky
Negative Burn #27 (Caliber). I love this cover by Kelly Alder. Another great set of stories. #negativeburn #calibercomics #caliberpress #comicsky
Holy shit
Negative Burn #26 (Caliber). I particularly enjoyed "Sandy" by Paul Jenkins and Avido Khahaifa. I really love Avido's artwork here and in the Black Mist series, which looks to be some of the only work they ever did. #negativeburn #calibercomics #caliberpress #comicsky
Ooh was not aware of Eclipse monthly. I assume it's like an anthology of short stories?
Negative Burn #23 (Caliber). While not my favorite issue, I did enjoy @philhester.bsky.social's "The Creep." His chiseled, angular figures are always very captivating. #negativeburn #calibercomics #caliberpress #philhester #comicsky
What is this from? It looks awesome
The Collected Omaha The Cat Dancer Vol. 6 (Fantagraphics). Bummer that this appears to be the last of the series, with several unresolved storylines. Oh well; it was fun while it lasted. RIP Kate Worley. #omahathecatdancer #fantagraphics #reedwaller #kateworley #comicsky
Elric: The Dreaming City (Marvel). I say this every time I post his work (well, something in the same vein), but it bears repeating: P. Craig Russell's illustrations are other-fucking-worldly. And teamed up with Roy Thomas? Come on, now. GOATs. #elric #pcraigrussell #roythomas #michaelmoorcock
Alright let's see now: Knight Mouse, Samurai Frog, War Turtle... it just might work
@letitmelo.bsky.social okay this is peak
Did some organizing of my collection, in two sets of alphabetical order (per shelving unit). Man I have to still read a lot of this. #comicsky
The Adventures of Luther Arkwright TPB (Dark Horse). This was quite the series. Truly a fairly simple plot, but told in an eccentric manner through a sci-fi, mystical lens, with gorgeous art. I love bloody b+w comics; black blood looks so much more brutal. #comicsky #lutherarkwright #bryantalbot
Holy shit that Nightcrawler is incredible
What a fantastic and accurate analysis. Truly one of a kind. ๐
I read Four Women in one night because I couldn't put it down. It moves much faster than most of his work. Aliens: Earth/Female War is also excellent. His rendition of the Xenomorph is incredible. I need to read my Epicurus The Sage and Zero Girl books now, though. More than ever.
Thank you, Sam Kieth, for granting me my passion for weird comics. I still have a few books of yours waiting to be read, and I shouldn't wait any longer. #samkieth
At my first comic convention, I stumbled upon Sam Kieth's first ever published work, Comico Primer #5, featuring an early concept for The Maxx: Max The Hare. The vendor sold it to me for far below what he was asking, as he could tell I was freaking out. #comico #themaxx #samkieth
A few years ago I read My Inner Bimbo while baking in the heat sitting on a beach, then read the final few pages exhausted in bed, tears running down my face while the last montage of panels tore me down. Absolutely the best emotive comic artist. #myinnerbimbo #samkieth
Absolutely gutted by the death of Sam Kieth. The Maxx was the first comic I truly loved, so much that it was my first tattoo 20 years ago. I spent so much of my high school years reading and rereading this series. #themaxx #samkieth #comicsky
Just learned there was a Negative Burn Anthology crowd funding campaign AND I MISSED IT. God fucking dammit. I will be hunting for those like mad later this year... #negativeburn #comicsky
