This is very compelling! Pete Buttigieg just gets it. The sheer humanity in this clip is why I like this man so much, everyone should watch it!!
Trump said we “can’t take care of daycare” because “we’re fighting wars.”
Hello? The $200B he wants for his war could provide every child in the country with a free school lunch for a year & have $170 billion to spare.
Trump can help people here at home — he’s just choosing not to.

Ugh! @verizonofficial.bsky.social what is up with you folks! Repeated, daily intermittent Fios internet outages and just as I’m finishing an online chat with one of your technical support people, boom, internet goes down again (for at least the 3rd time today!). Is it time to #dumpVerizon ?
Its worth remembering that DHS could choose to pay TSA workers any time they want to. They wave trillions of dollars from the big ugly bill. They could just shift the funds.

Watching @nbcnews.com tonight and they are presenting the TSA issue in an incredibly irresponsible way - they are not reporting that Dems have a solution. They make it sound like it’s Dems blocking a settlement. So wrong and shame on @nbcnews.com
Watching morning talk shows, listening to #GOP politicians wrap themselves in pretzels to justify a war is incredible. #EpsteinFiles be damned. They keep saying “imminent threat” . . . someone get them a dictionary.
things every single republican president of your lifetime has done
- started a war in the middle east
- completely destroyed the economy
Donald Trump's first 100 days have been characterized by the most flagrant corruption imaginable.
Today, I want to talk about 10 of the absolute worst examples.
(Thread 🧵)
www.nytimes.com/2026/02/21/b... “Trump’s tariffs have so far not done much to solve the emergency he said they were directed at in the first place.
“tariffs did not succeed in revitalizing U.S. manufacturing,” Setser said. “. . . did not succeed in meaningfully changing the overall trade deficit.”“
As I mentioned in an earlier post, Palantir software is used by many healthcare systems. Are they gathering your data? They’ll say no, privacy rules prevent but . . .
Yesterday morning kids were sent running from their bus stop in panic because ICE showed up. This guy at today’s ICE Out of Lindenwold protest is a must watch 😭. @maddow.bsky.social
For those of you who grew up after 9/11, we got along just fine without a Department of Homeland Security for 212 years.
The DHS was formed to try to prevent future terror attacks — now, it is orchestrating them.
Immigrants, very much including undocumented immigrants, have been a massive NET PLUS to the quality of life in America.
That is simply a fact.
Every single one of us has benefited.
There's no point denying it.
It's just a fact of life in america.
Can we call it what it was? MURDER. @whitehouse-47.bsky.social and it might as well have been Trump, Noem, and Miller pulling the trigger. #LockThemUp

A video of Alex Pretti reading out the final salute of an unnamed veteran he cared for until the end of his life in the ICU, posted to Facebook by his son.
Is this why you voted more money for the gestapo? @tomsuozzi.bsky.social
In honour of MLK Jr Day
I Have a Dream - 2026
I have a dream that a nation
that taught the world the language of liberty,
will once again remember what the words mean,
that freedom is not a brand,
democracy not a costume,
and justice not a slogan to be worn & discarded depending on the season
1/9
“In the end, we will remember not the words of our enemies, but the silence of our friends.”
Happy Martin Luther King Jr. Day.

There is simple answer to deescalating the violence in Minnesota - ICE should leave!
Or is she too an aspiring authoritarian?
nymag.com/intelligence... From the last sentences:“It is no small matter for a government to admit that its predecessors were criminal and to try to right their wrongs. I wondered if, several decades in the future, our own country would, or could, do the same.”
Jonathan Ross is a murderer. Say it with me. Jonathan Ross is a murderer.
National Airport is still National Airport. The Department of Defense is still the Department of Defense. Kennedy Center is still Kennedy Center. And that’s the way they all will remain.
The attack at a Hanukkah celebration in Sydney today was a vile act of antisemitic terror. I mourn those who were murdered and will be keeping their families, the Jewish community, and the Chabad movement in my prayers. May the memories of all those killed be a blessing. While we are still waiting for all the facts to emerge, what we already know is devastating. At least 11 dead, including Rabbi Eli Schlanger, who held deep ties to Crown Heights. At least 29 injured. Another Jewish community plunged into mourning and loss, a holiday of light so painfully reduced to a day of darkness. This attack is merely the latest, most horrifying iteration in a growing pattern of violence targeted at Jewish people across the world. Too many no longer feel safe to be themselves, to express their faith publicly, to worship in their synagogues without armed security stationed outside. What happened at Bondi is what many Jewish people fear will happen in their communities too. On Bondi Beach today, as men with long guns targeted innocents, another man ran towards the gunfire and disarmed a shooter. Tonight, as Jewish New Yorkers light menorahs and usher in a first night of Hanukkah clouded by grief, let us look to his example and confront hatred with the urgency and action it demands. When I am Mayor, I will work every day to keep Jewish New Yorkers safe—on our streets, our subways, at shul, in every moment of every day. Let this be a purpose shared by every New Yorker, and let us banish this horrific violence to the past.
Despite @whitehouse-47.bsky.social bullying, we need to commemorate World AIDS Day. #WorldAIDSDay
