My wife bought butter a couple of weeks ago.

It was the wrong brand.

American crap.

Can you tell which is Kiwi and which is American slop?

As far back as 2023 (a year after parliament protest) this infographic captures the domestic+transnational #disinformation ecosystem linked to Cyclone Gabrielle. The report has much more detail. Climate change denial's scale, & sophistication in NZ is far greater now, which I also flag. #nzpol

How far must you have fallen in life to be making threats of violence against this actual national treasure, a man who, in his more whimsical moments, sings songs to ducks.

When “Natural Supports” Aren’t Natural at All There is a quiet expectation in Aotearoa’s disability system that shapes everything such as funding, services, and outcomes If you are disabled, your whānau will care for you.

The momentum on the left globally is from charismatic, aspirational leaders like Polanski and Mamdani

Unfortunately Chippy has the charisma of a potato.

The left need Labour in order to win, that's not going to happen with the entire party locked into centrism

It's very bleak

Long Covid in New Zealand: Health survey shows 400,000 adults affected Women, Māori and disabled people are disproportionately affected by long Covid.

Using COVID to divide the nation in 2026....Something, something Royal Commission.
Trying anything to get above 250,000 votes, including gaslighting the 200,000 still suffering with long COVID.

if you go back to the 70’s, feminism rejected traditional female roles such as care giving, and it diminished the mana of such roles, and even today, they are underpaid (not my two staff, I pay way above the living wage due to their skills) and to this day, there is a lack of respect for caregiving

when we celebrate womens suffrage, disabled women are not invited to the table, yet disabled women were part of the movement back then too, we remain invisible in society to this day and ageing makes us more invisible

it does, we have always made it clear, it seems to make some uncomfortable which says a lot about how disability is viewed regarding relationships and even parenting etc

haha oh dont worry, i have my wife and carer with me when i travel and they assume my wife is my carer too, she is but more importantly, she is also my wife and therefore she should be referred to as such, so we speak up every time.. Assumptions arent good

An interaction with a chatbot where the issue of gender assumptions are being challenged very politely

Having a very polite and respectful back and forth with @airnewzealand.bsky.social Oscar chatbot about not making assumptions, after repeated use of *your husband* when talking about my partner. We are both being super nice which is improving my mood by at least 50% 😁
