Louisiana ambassador and book bon vivant Anna Rose Reads and I ventured into Anne Rice territory today and visited her (two!) homes here in the Garden District, plus popping our heads in to sign some books at both Octavia Books and the Garden District Book Shop. Thank you @annarosereads.bsky.social

Interview with Avery Curran is LIVE!
Discussing rot, coming-of-age themes, and the uniquely female lens of this book, Avery and I unpack her debut, Spoiled Milk. This was such a lovely convo that probably could have continued for even longer, and I am the MOST grateful to Avery for her time! 🔗 :
BAHAHHAHAHAHAH. I’m sorry? I think?🤣
Thank you SO much for listening!!!!
Finished listening this morning. Really wonderful conversation. My brother, who’s ten years my senior, always derides King’s “woman books,” but I’ve always been grateful that those books (read when I was 12-14) are a foundation of my love for King, for horror, and for reading itself.
It’s so disturbing!!!!!

Written with her signature wit, charm, and brilliant horrific nuance, Rachel Harrison’s Kiss Slay Replay transcends any genre of fiction to remind us all that life is bigger than the singularities we are conditioned to mentally frequent.
