Rudy Gobert's G2 4Q defense vs Nikola Jokic
Anthony Edwards on his extra energy on blocks
"Beat shit. — I just be watching Dwyane Wade clips, he was beating shit at the rim. I just be tryna beat shit at the rim. That's all. — I don't give a damn I'm tryna beat that shit."
The video
Julius Randle w/ G2 praise for Rudy Gobert
"Shoutout to Big Ru, what he did tonight, it's not going to show up in the box-score. — Ant challenged him, beginning of the 4Q, he said, 'I need you to stop fouling.' How he guarded Jokic in the end was super inspiring to the team."
Anthony Edwards on Donte DiVincenzo's G2 performance
"I love Donte. I told him after the game he got gorilla nuts. He's willing to take any kind of shot."
"When he took the three at the end today, I was like 'ahh Donte', but then he made it, I was like 'let's fucking go Donte."
Anthony Edwards on his 10/25 FG for 30 PTS box score tonight in G2 vs Denver
"shits ass"
Chris Finch was asked if he felt better about the free-throw attempts being tied at 30 between Denver and Minnesota tonight.
"next question."
Chris Finch on Rudy Gobert's defense
"It's a joke that he wasn't a finalist for DPOY. — Usually all by himself, he's a top-five defense in the league."
"It's just laughable and small-minded and petty, all the crap that people decided to give Rudy."
Also shoutout to Naz Reid for that mini explosion to begin the quarter. The scoring energy was much needed.
I cannot wait to make a defensive compilation from this one later.
Big shoutout to Donte DiVincenzos late heroics.
The late pass to Jaden, hustle steal on the opposite baseline, big three on the right wing. Winning plays in the 2H.
I have detailed it before, but it is insane how good of shape Rudy Gobert stays in. He is built like a chiseled stone statue, but his ability to never ever get tired on the court despite his size is so admirable.
He was cruising in that 4Q while Jokic looked very winded. Incredible defense there.
19 point comeback win for the Wolves tonight.
Their second largest in playoff history, dating back to their G7 at Ball Arena in 2024.
Rudy Gober finishes 4th in DPOY
happy holidays
Am I peculiar for posting a clip comp of a guy shooting 1/4 from three, yeah, but I am all in on the process > results with Ayo here.
Ayo Dosunmu has only played in 1 playoff series. 2021/22 his rookie season, he struggled immensely.
His archetype and 3P volume are wonky, and it was a concern I had in the series, but Denver guarded him normally, and we got 4 half-court ATB 3PA.
I can live with that.
The finishing touch was off, ball security was bad, and defense was shaky.
Tough afternoon at the arena for 11.
(aye man, mike conley is very limited and has the most capped ceiling out of any rotational player on this team, but he actually played pretty well in game one)
On paper, 22 PTS on 19 FGA | 49.8% TS is a bit below average for Anthony Edwards in G1 @ DEN. However it did not feel that awful to me honestly?
I think I was most disappointed by the clutch time shot selection and lack of shot making overall, when the game was in reach.
Critics are calling this the most Donte DiVincenzo possession of all time.
Julius was not great this game, and obv he has higher expectations as the no. two option… but he still had flashes… when Naz is off, he is unplayable
Few things in basketball are more pleasing than watching an off-ball player read his screen defender.
Sick camera shot here, shame Ant missed.
This Naz Reid G1 tape, very very rough
The worlds latest scram switch
Great low-man read from Anthony Edwards.
Spencer Jones respects the Rudy Gobert roll off the screen flip. Jaden McDaniels attacks the closeout and is able to go reverse.
Not totally sure why Denver did an x-out here though.
Denver utilizing it where Jokic can trail at the top of the arc straight on is such a lethal look. You have to be locked in.
This possession ended in a layup for Anthony Edwards
