We've kept our eye on surface temperatures during this mid-March heat wave over the Western US. ☀️ These temps were taken around our work place, homes, and along our commutes in Tucson and Albuquerque. The UofA's media advisory for the heat season is out early, just like the heat! lnkd.in/gYw5etvw

I flew to Albuquerque this week for the Annual Meeting of the Society for Applied Anthropology. We have been having some incredibly engaging sessions on the political ecology of heat and heat risk: one today, and another tomorrow at 11am if you’re around and interested.

Funding to protect American cities from extreme heat just evaporated NOAA's program was supposed to help cities across the country better understand and respond to the problem of extreme heat.

I spoke with @mrmattsimon.bsky.social at @grist.org about our national Center for Heat Resilient Communities being terminated a few weeks ago: "We would have had a really robust roadmap that would be really applicable to all cities across the country." grist.org/cities/fundi... #heatresilience
