Not so much travel related but I made ice cream today for the first time in several years. This is significant to me for a few reasons I won't go into...it's nice to reclaim an activity from a different part of my life.

Some more gecko pics: a giant leaf-tailed gecko close-up and camouflage, and (my favorite) a Chinese Crocodile lizard.
Another trip to Brooklyn NY this past weekend with my fiance! While we were primarily there for a show (Acid Bath was incredible!), I also had to introduce her the gecko gallery while we were there.
Pictured is me, with a gecko friend.๐ฆ
Camp was indescribably good. It was my first time going to an outdoor event like that by myself and it was a huge success. My chill has no comparison. โค๏ธ
This week: a whirlwind trip to NYC to fix a thing. These robots need some TLC sometimes.
Next week, travel of a different sort...heading down to Maryland to camp, cavort and catch up on some much-needed frivolity ๐ฅโค๏ธ
Pad Thai with the appropriate amount of crispy pork, the biggest arepa ever, really awesome ice cream flavors, and a couple of snacks that performed at #somedaybar ๐ซ ๐ฅ
Saw a show at the Brooklyn Monarch, complete with random fan with a bubble maker. #hath #thebrooklynmonarch
A gecko exhibit *next* to the bone museum?! Don't mind if I do ๐ฑ I took loads more pics than this, so cool! #thegeckogallerynyc
Bones, but tattoos. Circled design is settling into my skin nicely ๐
The hat. I entered to win it, fingers crossed ๐
Things of note during the last two weeks when I wasn't too tired and dust-covered to do anything:
- Donuts, and a hat that I didn't realize I needed.
- Bones, mostly human.
- Surprise gecko exhibit!
- Brooklyn metal scene and a band I was excited to see live (Hath).
- Some incredible food. Per usual
what is the best fund to support children or seperated families taken by ICE?
On the road again, this time another part of Brooklyn. Another part of this city to get myself familiar with. Or, more simply, another chance for me to eat as many Doughnut Plant donuts as possible.
My room for the next two weeks. Jimmie for scale ๐
BTW, quick shout out to Borderlands Books in San Francisco for being awesome. Wicked nice staff excited about books and getting people into books, and a huge selection of sci-fy/fantasy/mystery/horror. Seriously impressed.
Travel has picked up again. While I'm hanging in the airport for my flight back to Boston, here are some pics from my 2-ish week stay in Santa Clara/SF area. Some art, and some neat details from the Winchester Mystery House. ๐ป
Looking forward to coming back.
Not for work, but certainly to get myself accustomed to travel again - heading off to have a fun weekend in Chicago.
Btw, if anyone wants a list of queer/vintage/oddity/cocktail bars/museums and ice cream places in Chicago, I gotchu. All things I def have time to visit in 2 1/2 days. Definitely. ๐
Happy TDOV.
If ya know, you know.
Instead of talking about myself I'll take the opportunity to share this immaculate loaf of Pulla I made over the weekend. Behind it is an equally good loaf that took the brunt of my mediocre braiding skills.
Good morning...it's early. Off to California for the week. I'll be staying/working an hour south of the fires in LA. Not too concerned, but still wild that I'll be so close. Good tacos, here I come...
It's hard to remember to take photos on deployments. I could have taken something while on Wall Street, or while I was walking across the Brooklyn bridge. I guess a rare white T-shirt shot will do just fine. If you look close you can spot my most recent chest tattoo.
Room with a view ๐
In Brooklyn for a bit.
June 2024, during a 2 week stay in NYC. #timessquare #nyc #workhardplayhard
Home from CA and so glad for it. In my ride to the airport there were boxes of Narcan available to the riders - first time I've seen harm reduction meds in a ride share. I'd been looking to get trained for a bit now and the driver was kind enough to give me a box. #narcan #harmreduction
Cool bar near my hotel. I'd go again if it wasn't for having to switch hotels mid-week. #2ndfloor #huntingtonbeach
My little travel bud, Jimmie. He comes with me when I'm away. His twin, also named Jimmie, stays with my girlfriend. Here we see Jimmie doing a flop after a 10 hour travel day. ๐ด
Huntington Beach pier ๐
Less sun for sure, but California in November is still super beautiful. Might even get in the water...
Intro? Intro.
I'm Grey, he/they. Talk to me about:
- travel
- traveling with tools
- tools in general
- food
- music
- singing and vocal work
- Console gaming (PC is also fine)
- Tattoos/piercings and other art
- ...and a host of other, sexier, queerer topics that other folks know I'm about.
