I always thought it was a safety thing. I wouldn’t want a dead or disconnected HV battery to mean I don’t have working airbags or hazard lights.

My EV has a pyro fuse on the HV battery which blows if a short is detected. Which could happen in an accident.

I’d rather have working safety systems.
