The problem with this review is that my laptop can’t cope with how many tabs it makes me want to open

This is an important and fascinating review. It captures the wide and nuanced array of factors involved in the science-to-practice gap. By @ninaschwarzbach.bsky.social

Our meta-ethnography was just published. It looks at clinician experiences of identity change when implementing or training in Open Dialogue. There were lots of rich qualitative studies to include, which made the review such a pleasure to conduct www.tandfonline.com/doi/full/10....

Thanks for the SCED package!
I used @ianhussey.mmmdata.io's SCED package for this CBT for tinnitus SCED. Highly recommend it. User friendly, solid visualisation and has some nice non-parametric tests. journals.sagepub.com/doi/10.1177/....
Fear of losing control research is out. Thank you to everyone who participated and made it possible, and to supervisors & co-authors @psalkovskis.bsky.social, Adam Radomsky and Victoria Edwards link.springer.com/article/10.1...

Yes, I am one of those horrible people who submit during the season. New preprint, 1st paper from my #ERCStG DECOMPOSE

The goals of DECOMPOSE are break-down psychological interventions into components, integrate these in a taxonomy and evaluate incremental efficacy
The last government made a moralistic choice to let hundreds/thousands of people die despite evidence accumulating internationally that drug consumption rooms save lives.
This is great news, but a tragedy it took so long. So many more lives could have been saved.

This from Andrew Scott captures it so nicely
I can’t argue with this. Such a beautiful film www.theguardian.com/film/2024/dec/20/best-films-of-2024-in-the-uk-no-1-all-of-us-strangers
I love the way family therapies have drawn on Bakhtin. Polyphony is such a vivid way to conceptualise making space for all voices, both between and within individuals
This book offers a framework for bringing together wide ranging systemic theories into a manageable formulation
This book opened my eyes to just how fun and creative therapy can be. The ‘wonderfulness interview’ is such a great way to set an engaging, strengths-based frame with children
Bateson’s mind blew my mind. He roams so creatively across different planes of life and theory, from crustaceans to Balinese culture. His thinking about associate learning is fascinating too
I just submitted the last systemic family therapy intermediate assignment. It’s been invigorating to dive into such a different way of thinking about therapy and mental health. And I’ve gorged on some amazing books along the way. Some of my favourites…
Literally just as I read this I heard one roaring in the distance. There must be some kind of pleasure to it but it’s a pleasure I just don’t get
