While the games acknowledged the depleting population of Farfetch'd, it was never outright stated WHY their numbers were decreasing. The Pokédex in the Indigo League anime did mention this, however. Nowadays, any mentioning of humans hunting or eating Pokémon is extremely rare.

Nice! New Pokémon Snap! This game should be brought up more when discussing the quality of the mainline games and how to portray the world. Voice acting is just the tip of the iceberg.
I had no idea there was so much to explore in the Palpagos Islands. So many things I've yet to do: many bosses, oil rigs, sanctuaries, breeding… And I've been playing for 80+ hours! I wonder how fast I can do things if I start again... Anyway, next Palworld stream could be the last. We'll see.

Anybody watching my Palworld streams? What do you think of them? Not really sure if I wanna keep streaming the game. I'm still enjoying the game, but I have had several thoughts on stopping the stream series and just playing the rest on my own. Let me know your thoughts in the replies.

They are not the first company to do this exact same song and dance and they will not be the last.
This information as well as the Japanese name of Farfetch'd (カモネギ) is in direct reference to the Japanese proverb, 鴨が葱を背負って来る. It literally translates to "the duck comes with an onion affixed to its back", and describes a situation where something fortunate happens after another favorable event.
Part of Page 41 of An Illustrated Book of Pocket Monsters, a companion book for the original Pokémon Red and Green for Game Boy. This page features Doduo (ドードー), Dodrio (ドードリオ), and Farfetch'd (カモネギ).
Highlighted: カモネギと茎をいっしょに料理して食べると旨いという情報が、数年前からマスコミによって全国的に広がり、カモネギの数は激減した。 Translation: "A few years ago, the media began spreading the word nationwide that Farfetch'd taste delicious when cooked and eaten along with their stalks, leading to a drastic decline in the Farfetch'd population."
Some of the additional information in the Illustrated Book of Pocket Monsters is crazy. Apparently, in the Pokémon Gen 1 universe, mass media spread nationwide that cooking Farfetch'd with its leek makes a delicious dish, resulting in its population plummeting. Pokémon nowadays would NEVER do this!

I wasn't particularly interested in the original Temtem, but this could be something worth looking at. This would probably be the game that some people WANTED Palworld to be if it could be more...creative in its creature designs. (I say this as someone who likes Palworld.)
