Fly on my friend and colleague who touched my heart with your scientific intellect, your love for students, your quintessential kindness to all, your shared love of music and your spot on drum beat that felt like my heartbeat. Your spirit will be with me always.....
A real honour to share the virtual podium with these great researchers exploring how eosinophils and innate immune cells interact to drive homeostasis and disease. Deeply grateful to the IES for the opportunity and looking forward to welcoming the Society to Vancouver in 2027!

LAST CHANCE to register for a great conference in beautiful Vancouver. Quality of the international speakers is exceptional and the intimate setting makes it a "must attend" for anyone interested in how innate cells drive and resolve disease. Join us!

Great to be recognized!!!! Thank you JEM and congrats to the team!
This is absolutely sickening to see. How can anyone think ICE is helping anything in Minneapolis? What are these masked paramilitaries protecting the people from? When will those cowards in charge start being accountable and when are the courts going to step in? All the markings of a failed state
Some papers take years to complete but they change the way you think about disease. Kudos to the Ahmed Kabil and colleagues for showing that early life microbial exposures alter longterm hematopoiesis and stem cell behaviour: www.cell.com/action/showP...
Outstanding Conference for anyone with an interest in Innate Lymphoid Cells (ILC6) in June in beautiful Vancouver!!! ilc6vancouver.com. Come join us!
We're like a parent watching their baby all grown up. 🥹 STEMprep™ has now been featured in its very first scientific publication!
Such an amazing experience to be a faculty member at "ImmunoPeru: Interplay between the environment and the Immune system": Top scientists, top students, free flowing ideas and thinking about making a real world impact!!! Thank you IUIS/ALACI/SPI for such a brilliant opportunity and a great course!
Excellent: Why is autism really on the rise? What the science says www.nature.com/articles/d41...
Reality, increase largely driven by:
- Broader diagnostic criteria
- Increased awareness & detection
Autism causes complex, but it ain't vaccines or Tylenol.

Congrats to the Gommerman lab on a fascinating and important study!
The best conferences are always the small, intimate, focused ones where ideas fly freely. This one is a premier example!!! Looking forward to seeing everyone there and brainstorming on the hottest topic in immunology!
Couldn't agree more. A bold, timely move would pay huge future dividends for health, biotech and a clean economy. Such an amazing window of opportunity for Canada while US politics has led to their exit from scientific stage. The question is whether we will be bold enough and seize the opportunity
bbc.com/news/articles/c74dzdddvmjo 2 of 2) Canada, you stepped up on vaccine development. Time to double down and become the world leaders. US chaos/self-goal is a scientific and economic opportunity and we have the skill...time to be bold @stankutcher.sencanada.ca @canada-gov-ca.bsky.social
bbc.com/news/article... 1 of 2) The most stunning ceding of scientific and therapeutic leadership in my scientific career. When Trump 1.0 threatened NIH cuts, a GOP congress gave a 25% increase. Where are they now? Folks will die unnecessarily for this foolishness.
Our latest work on how neonatal microbiome sculpts adult disease susceptibility, and a simple metabolite that rescues! Microbial dysbiosis sculpts a systemic ILC3/IL-17 axis governing lung inflammatory responses and central hematopoiesis - Mucosal Immunology www.mucosalimmunology.org/article/S193...
Thrilled to be a team sponsored by the SCN to use ILCs to address chronic inflammation and cancer. Kudos to Grace Kuo, precocious member of my team who put together a remarkable application!!!! youtu.be/e6sp8DLTfgc?...
So happy to share our latest work on a model for a very important disease. Congrats Ahmed!

All 4 of my NIH research grants are terminated. These were grants on MDR-TB treatment & strategies for supporting adolescents living w/ HIV. This is a massive waste of resources. I am heartbroken for my Harvard team, my partners in Peru, the next generation of scientists & our country. Shame.
2025 Day of Immunology - Brain and Immunity: Immuno... by Lina Salinas
; Apr 29 2025; immunohub.iuis.org/iuis/2024/we...
Such an important, misunderstood disease and frequently misdiagnosed with devastating results. Thanks to Yane Valdez for highlighting this on the Day of Immunology! Please thank those Immunological giants who are responsible for our quality lives..truly remarkable!!

This is a terrific editorial by the good Dr. Zandstra that hits all the key points for Canada's future science and R&D success! Kudos!!!

A recent interest! Quoting Dr. Yanet Valdez Tejeira: "April 14th is #WorldChagasDay. Let's raise awareness about Chagas disease, a silent killer impacting vulnerable populations. Educate yourself & others by watching our important awareness video:"

World Chagas Day!!! Great opportunity to learn about a neglected disease that is a huge problem in some parts of the world and a growing, costly one in North America.
Thanks to Adam Schiff for such a kind acknowledgment to Canada and also for fighting for what's right in America.

What a great panel and topic!!! Equitable partnerships, in science and beyond, are what the world desperately needs these days and this panel can speak to this better than virtually anyone I know. Great opportunity!
Corey Booker is such an inspiration of what John Lewis said about getting into to "good trouble". Follow that lead: INTERVENE. Don't let students get grabbed off the streets or watch your colleagues get pushed out of their offices...non-violently INTERVENE and cause some good trouble...take a risk.
Corey Booker is such an inspiration and model of John Lewis' "good trouble". In every overstep you see by the government, take his lead...INTERVENE. Do not passively watch when they attack a colleague, grab a student off campus, etc. Speak up and non-violently INTERVENE....proudly take a risk.
