Cummins lobbies PM for $100m fund to help clubs manage climate change costs Australia's men's Test cricket captain has lobbied Prime Minister Anthony Albanese to contribute to a $100m fund to help sporting clubs withstand the effects of climate change.

What Pat Cummins is doing for climate adaptation and mitigation in Australia - protect something people love in their normallives, help them do it differently (loads of solar) - is an incredibly replicable model for climate advocates everywhere

I suspect the answer might be no, and this will be further good news for the Lib Dems...

'Will the new Green leadership be able to reach an agreement with the Corbyn/Sultana party?' you ask, as if the far-left have a reputation for anything other than factionalism and ideological rifts.

Sky, ITV and the BBC have spent the last few weeks empowering these racist turds with poor to bad faith reporting of tiny demos organised by far right groups as huge events of national importance, while offering no push back to relentless lies told by Farage and others. The TV newsrooms own it.

Innovation makes useful things smaller and smaller. Overconsumption makes things bigger and bigger (and more dangerous with bigger costs & consequences). Bigger vehicles and larger homes for fewer people is not progress. HT @fietsprofessor for graphic

Ursula von der Leyen’s plane hit by suspected Russian GPS interference Officials suspect jamming operation forced jet carrying European Commission president to land in Bulgaria using paper maps

'Europe is at war with Russia' is a deeply weird thing that you can find out just by reading the information that governments put on their website and if you read a quality newspaper, but *actual politicians* don't really talk about:

When are people going to realise that we at actually at war and that there are people in the UK actively aiding and abetting the other side.

Britain needs a wealth tax on property Targeting expensive houses and non-residential land would leave the vast majority of homeowners and farmers untouched

"UK council tax is based on 1991 property valuations, grouped into eight price bands and paid by tenants. It is probably the world’s most unfair property tax: the poorest pay the highest tax as a percentage of property value and the richest the least."

This is spot on, and not just with regard to legal reporting. We increasingly live in a world of binary and deeply simplistic thinking. Which means that everything is slowly turned into a us-versus-them question. It is disastrous for reasoned debate.

Sarah Vine is actually properly evil. No wonder Gove was off his face so much of the time when he was married to her.

Calls to charge SUV drivers more for parking amid 'carspreading' Campaigners want higher parking charges for SUVs, which they say are driving up emissions, congestion and road danger. But not everyone is on board.

"It is not fair to make life more expensive and unpleasant for people who operate" SUVs

I'd say it'd be a step in the right direction.

Post of a Chinese restaurant daubed with graffiti with following text:

I feel truly heartbroken today. My Chinese takeaway, which has been serving this community for more than 10 years, was vandalized with hateful graffiti telling us to "go home."
This is not just paint on the wall - it is blatant discrimination, and it hurts deeply.
The police are already following up on this incident. If anyone has seen anything or knows who did this, please contact us.
We work hard every day to serve our customers with love and dedication. I believe our community is stronger than hate, and I hope everyone will stand together against this kind of behaviour.

Germany and Italy say they export lots of goods to Kyrgyzstan (black), but Kyrgyz import data (blue) show little arriving from either. Kyrgyzstan is just what it says on the invoice. This stuff obviously goes to Russia. Poland & Lithuania stopped this racket. Why won't Germany and Italy do the same?

The whole property 'industry' needs taxing more heavily. Estate agents, property and estate management companies are making squillions from adding absolutely zero value to the economy.
