It's the national year of reading in the uk in 2026. Instead of asking "why don't kids read any more", ask "how can I help them find the stories (and non fic) they will fall in love with". Less "get off my lawn whippersnappers" and more "come, sit on the lawn, here's a comic".
May 2026 be a year when those who persecute, despoil and oppress the people find their power shattering on the rock of solidarity!
tonight I'm gonna party like it's 1999 (i’m scared of computer)
Cruelty is anhedonic. It rarely delivers the euphoria promised because, in the abstract, what feels righteous and joyful inevitably reveals itself to be sordid and small. Then it's "No not like that". "No not enough". "No the real battle, the forever war to make this feel good starts now". Forever.
Hi everyone. CyricZ here. After giving myself time to reflect on my options, I’ve decided that I will not be writing a GameFAQs guide for Yakuza Kiwami 3 / Dark Ties. I will not be purchasing the game, nor playing it in any capacity. I write guides because I love writing, and I write for the games that I write for because they inspire me. The joy I find in them drives me to give my best work. If I were to write a guide entirely out of obligation or expectation, I do not believe my best work would find its way to the page. With the hiring of known sexual harasser Teruyuki Kagawa to the face and voice cast of Yakuza Kiwami 3, I do not find myself inspired by the game. The Like a Dragon series has a long-standing history of opposing sexual misconduct in all its forms and I feel this casting goes against that message.
Key members of RGG Studio have refused to speak on the hiring of Kagawa after his misconduct was made more widely known. While they are by no means required to speak about this, by their silence they have sent a message that they do not view Kagawa’s misconduct as a dealbreaker for inclusion in the series cast, nor do they deem it worth addressing. This stands in contrast to steps taken in the past to replace other cast members that did not align with their values. I won’t go into further detail on the issue itself as the information is widely available via the #REMOVEKAGAWA movement. The rest of this will be about me, my guides, and my relationship with RGG Studio and the Like a Dragon series.
I remain a fan of the Like a Dragon series. It’s not something I can just excise from myself. I intend to continue playing past Like a Dragon games on stream as they are some of my favorite video games. That may be subject to change in the future, but the plans are to continue playing the games on stream in my intended order, with the exception of Yakuza Kiwami 3 or Dark Ties. The only minor thing that will change with regards to my streams is that I intend to take special note during stream of the many, many instances during the series that remind us of the societal ill of sexual misconduct. As to future games put out by RGG Studio, I reserve the right to not make a decision on those at this time. That will be a “wait and see” situation, dependent on future actions or inactions by RGG Studio. Further, if things change with regards to the release of Yakuza Kiwami 3, I reserve the right to reassess all the preceding. RGG Studio still has the opportunity to do right in this situation, and I hold onto hope that they will see the best way forward.
Finally, I promise to all my readers that my GameFAQs guides for the Like a Dragon series and other RGG Studio games will be going nowhere no matter what happens. Not only are they some of my best work, but if I preserve the guides with myself as the author, I remain in creative control of them. This prevents others from taking the text and redistributing it without my consent, which is something I fear would happen if I were to remove them from GameFAQs entirely. For those of you who read my guides, thank you so much for your support, and I’m sorry I will not be helping with this upcoming game. For anyone who wants to write a guide on GameFAQs for Yakuza Kiwami 3, be my guest, not that you need my permission anyway. For those of you joining me in solidarity against Kagawa and this release, I thank you all for sticking with it. Your commitment has inspired this. Be good to each other, Scott “CyricZ” Zdankiewicz
Announcement:
I will not be writing a GameFAQs guide for Yakuza Kiwami 3/Dark Ties.

Why the two-child limit has to go, in a chart.
Don’t want to be too moralistic about this, but it is an active disgrace what people are doing to a profoundly liberational scheme that costs relatively piddling amounts on the basis of a couple of right wing shitposters misrepresenting it on Twitter.

It's the blatant lying that gets me! I expect large companies to behave unethically but when they just make up nonsense like this it takes me out. I've just looked and Waterstones profits have been broadly higher than Lush since 2018 and than Majestic since 2017, with turnover in the same region.
I'm assuming IKEA are miles away but I'll have a look at Majestic in a bit.
www.theguardian.com/books/2019/m...
Waterstones said that of other similar large retailers, only Ikea, Majestic and Lush commit to paying the real living wage. On Monday, Majestic Wine announced it will close a number of its stores and focus on its online and international business.
This article about Waterstones and wages had me curious so I looked into it, and Lush is not miles away from Waterstones in terms of turnover and has had lower profits for the last five years - there's so many things to criticise W on but why on earth are they claiming they can't pay the RLW?
Extract from Bookseller 2018 "When asked if the company had chanmged its stance on not opening up new stores in places which alreday had thriving independents, Daunt said "Absolutely not. We will not be operating in a predatory way."
Extract from Scotsman interview with Argonaut Books owner saying "It was with much surprise then that we learnes, and not directly from Waterstones themselves, that the UK's biggest book chain was moving in literally steps from our front door."
