Is this study a missed opportunity to spend research funds wisely? Few participants re-engaged, many continued to inject, despite £ incentive. Given the large number of users in Glasgow, participant uptake was poor. One wonders whom is the more desperate; the drug user or the researcher??

The missing child would probably still be alive but for her parents neglect - leaving her alone in an apartment while they ate dinner, the doors unlocked. There is some evidence that the parents did this for three or four nights, with tragedy as the outcome.
