I drive non paved roads all the time, never an issue. I never said there shouldnt be connectivity, of course there has to be. Bike lanes are not the only option though. Its the only thing people seem to be focused on. A bike lane wont reduce traffic on the 102 or bridges.

Whatever you say. I know what i see when i look out the windshield with an empty bike lane next to me. I travel in and out 5-6 days a week, and can count the bikes i see going on one hand, some days its zero.
Actually bikes running red lights are a bigger safety issue.

The fact is that the bike lanes we have are basically empty. Building more isnt going to magically get people to jump on a bike in February and ride from Sackville to Halifax. Just keep thousands of cars idling at rush hour while staring at empty bike lanes i guess

The bike infrastructure is ideal for those living on the peninsula. It comes at a very high cost and is very under utilized for the price tag. Things like rail would move alot more people daily, and would be better bang for the buck. HFX seems to think a bike is the answer to traffic, its simply not

With the amount of people who travel into, and out of the peninsula daily from communities 30 mins plus away, something other than busses and bike lanes needs to be looked at. Those are great options for those who can utilize them, but it simply isnt viable for the majority.
