Duke freshman forward Cameron Boozer is The Associated Press men's college basketball national player of the year.
Obviously an all-time great regional weekend here in DC. All 3 games came down to last-second 3s and the final one dropped.
This is only the second time the Associated Press has ever used "astonishing" in a Bluesky post.
You never see news wires deploy language like this. Words don't do justice to how unlikely that comeback was.
(Don't look up what the first time the AP used the word for)
Wild in this era: Neither team has made a 3 in over 15 minutes

This is only accurate because "Elite Eight" was not part of the nomenclature in 1965, when Princeton beat Providence by 40 in the regional final

St. John's -- Darling, Mitchell, Sellers, Hopkins and Ejiofor.
Orioles win. Tyler O'Neill's opening day streak is over, however.
Rick Pitino was asked if his team is hungry to beat Duke:
"Yup. I haven't fed them in a week."

With 4.3 seconds to go full court, you've got to do better than a 3-foot inbound pass and then an immediate handoff. That wasn't even a competitive attempt at a game winner by Ohio State.
A preseason drill every team should do is when the opponent makes a big shot before the buzzer and everyone runs on the floor prematurely, you inbound the ball and throw it at one of those people. That's the only way the tech gets called...but it *will* get called.
