Completely ridiculous… can’t quite believe this was a reviewer comment
Thank you Joris, hope you’re keeping well in the US. We miss you here!
Also to @fgenovese.bsky.social, David Rueda, Martín Alberdi, Cathrine Kjaer, @trackjannik.bsky.social, and many others for constructive feedback and help along the way.
I also want to thank my supervisors @filipkostelka.bsky.social and @simonhix.bsky.social for their generous feedback and support on this, the first paper from my PhD.
So this happened a little while ago. I'm very grateful to the judges from the @psaireland.bsky.social and to @kevcunningham.bsky.social for generous financial support of the prize. It was great to be in Galway a few weeks ago to collect the award at the PSAI annual conference.

I agree, although I think we will both change our tune quickly if Italy / Ireland qualify…
You missed the best one of them all…

PhD places are available across the EUIs four departments: Economics, History, Law, and Political and Social Sciences
I’ll be in Dublin next Thursday to talk about the PhD program at the EUI. It is a fully funded four year program at one of Europes best research universities (yes, I am biased…).
If anyone has interested students based in Ireland please share with them!
@kevcunningham.bsky.social in line with what we were discussing yesterday
@jeffcolgan.bsky.social and I have spent some time thinking about different approaches to teaching the politics of climate change. We advocate an approach that emphasizes the different 'theories of change' behind decarbonization.
Once again, PBC is back and calling for your applications! As always, this is a no-budget but heart-rich story — and we can’t wait to see your proposals!
We would appreciate any feedback on our work (see form below). We take a materialist orientation, but there are many other approaches, e.g., those which empahsize ideational factors. We want to have a broad discussion on how we teach climate politics.

If you found our explainer video interesting, we've also written a working paper which lays out our arguments in more detail. It includes a comprehensive literature review that may help instructors build their syllabi.
You can download the paper here: climate.watson.brown.edu/syllabus-bank
We provide a Decarbonization framework which we hope will help instructors to a) build a strong syllabus, b) map existing theories of change (e.g., Kyoto, Carbon Taxes, Green New Deal), and c) provide a practical teaching element where students can trace their own theories of change.

Very excited to share this new tool for teaching the politics of climate change. What are the different *theories of change* that underlie decarbonization efforts and policies? Help your students learn about them. Please share widely. 🌎🔌💡🛢️
Join our webinar on the impact of climate education workshops in France on Wednesday July 23 at 3 PM (in French)! @renschazottes.bsky.social, @susannagarside.bsky.social, @maxbradley.bsky.social, and I will share findings from our study of over 2000 students across 10 higher education institutions.
Great to see this out @alexyeandle.bsky.social, well done!
Great stuff Joris, delighted to see this out finally! Such good work
This is great, congrats Liam!
@fresejoris.bsky.social
Wow, the jealously is palpable…
I need to hear that Pogues story when I get back to Florence!
Would be interesting to compare both graphs with data from 2020. My hunch is that climate change fell as an ‘important issue’ and that may help explain the slump in Green support, as opposed to simply being punished for being in government
Joris, as ever, your productivity is astounding. Congrats!
Hey @profmusgrave.bsky.social can I be added to polisky please?
