Leaving @theees.bsky.social is getting harder and harder as reality sinks in. Redevelopment, even for good reasons, inevitably means that we must accept change. The library may not be the same when i’m next in, but my memories will remain and our relaunch in 2028 will be accessible and sustainable.

Vintage photo chrome card depicting the Sphinx of Giza in the foreground with two pyramids in the background. Camels and Egyptians are also featured. The entire card is sepia-toned, except for the outfits of the Egyptian individuals, which have been colourised. "941. Le Caire. Le Sphinx".
Vintage postcard. "UNION POSTALE UNIVERSELLE. EGYPTE CARTE POSTALE". "Dear Friend you are like a bird, a small and pretty bird. You sing always, and your song enjoys your parents and friend. You have also the kindness and the lightness of the bird. Be happy. C. Saada." "A Miss Sarina Stolian, Mousky Street no. 34, Cairo."
Our volunteers Tilly and Hazel have been cataloguing and digitising our postcards. The majority are blank, but a few examples, like this, offer a glimpse into past relationships.
"Dear Friend you are like a bird, a small and pretty bird... Be happy."
