an illustration of my oc, Chel, with her current design. Chel was one of the main OCs that didn't come from a random character drawing that i later decided to make a recurring character. as such, i put a lot of effort into establishing her design, hence why her design remains largely the same over the years. while i've made many adjustments to her design that better fit what I initially envisioned, i attribute most of the differences between her old and current design to improvements in skill and understanding of art and design more than anything else

my very first illustration of my OC, Chel, featuring her original design from when I initially conceptualized her. in her current design, i made her skin darker, adjusted the way i drew her eyes to make her look closer to her actual ethnicity (her world's equivalent to Vietnamese-Korean), removed the anarchy tattoo as it clashed with the fishnet shorts she wears in later designs, and changed the style of her shorts to base them on a photo from Futidori_came on Twitter (specifically this one: https://x.com/Futidori_came/status/1903700199262069039/photo/1)
