My brother who lives in El Paso booked a flight back to his home state to attend the funeral of his childhood friend but then it got unexplainably canceled. Then it was back. Reason? Party balloons. Really?

All too often, we see a photo and forget these are people just like us, traumatized and terrified for the fate of their loved ones.

When we lived in the Bay Area, we would take the red eye back to Little Rock then drive to El Dorado to be with our families for Thanksgivings. Our three children would wear their pajamas to the airport so they could sleep on the plane.
