Probably the first time I'm ever prepped for a certification exam where nobody online can agree on who's right.
Some of it definitely feels subjective but every single question....

Hearing Fox McCloud is the best part of the new Mario movie is so funny but also I'm popping off at my boy getting recognition.
If it gets kids to play some of the games that's awesome
Chris Redfield is funny because his RE8 design is up there as one of my favorites. However his character writing in 8 is so comically bad it damages how I view him.
This one simple trick always works ๐ฎ๐
Comm for @beardebonair.bsky.social, thank you!
Requiem addressed this for me by taking 8's excellent gunplay (because most of its bosses are great. Final boss especially being a highlight) and using it in a game where the commons are fun to kill.
I feel similar. Mostly due to RE7 and 8 having a combo of either uninteresting or frustrating common enemies to fight against.
7 and 8 also suffer from Intro segments that are cool the first time but drag every subsequent playthrough. 8 wants to be RE4's village siege so bad and is just worse
BEARS BEARS BEARS
Happy 30th birthday Chris. I miss you more everyday and hope you're resting well

Social media is an awful way to discuss this at large. This is just a topic I find interesting and my favorite series has been a think piece on "bad controls" recently.
It's something I genuinely enjoy discussing as long as it isn't bad faith arguments which is unfortunately common
My last bit because I see quite a few "fixed camera is unfair". Specifically for survival horror, most games use their sound design to their advantage to warn you if there's enemies off screen. You can hear shambling, moans, etc to plan ahead and think about your positioning.
If you just take the time to interact with the game how it wants you to. You'll have a much better time. It's like watching people go from Mario Odyssey to 64. 64's camera is very different and you have to respect it otherwise you'll have a bad time. Older RE's are no different
Most games are designed with their control scheme in mind.
I'll use a game like RE1 Remake that was actually made easier by the addition of the Alternate Controls Type in the Remaster. You have way more control of Chris/Jill and can bait attacks much easier. But the game still feels great with tank
