This is how you become a writer: just pick one of the things that is deeply wrong with you. Make it a character. Now send it on a self-help journey or try to kill it. Now call it a book.

Here's another XTwitter scammer account outed by geolocation--this one refers writers to a (real) literary agent with a fake address, then impersonates the agent to recommend "professional editor" services

If you’re an author who has been contacted by a seemingly AI marketing or other scam, can I talk to you?

Oregon National Guard Adjutant General, General Gronewold says if they are federalized, that he will advise the Title 10 commander to utilize National Guard Troops to PROTECT protesters at ICE facilities. This is the right answer.

Congress? Hello—federal workers here. We are struggling to fight all of this on our own.

USAID.gov is down. Why is this concerning? Trump has no legal authority to eliminate a congressionally funded independent agency. The work of USAID is vital, and if this can happen to them, it can happen to any of us.

Note to OPM staff: Personal items cannot be searched. If any attempt is made, demand legal representation. Personal devices you own are off-limits to these staffers. Also, do not leave personal items in the office overnight. Stay alert and cautious.

At OPM, Musk’s staffers won’t leave—they work around the clock and have even installed sofa beds in the office. Our access to data systems has been restricted, raising serious concerns about cybersecurity and a complete lack of oversight. We are keeping our heads down and documenting everything.

The Trump administration has placed two top security chiefs at the U.S. Agency for International Development on leave after they resisted turning over classified material in restricted areas to Elon Musk’s staffers. America, please stand with us—we are fighting to defend this country!

Plain screenshot of black text on a white background. It is a written piece by Cameron Awkward-Rich titled Meditations in an Emergency which reads:

I wake up & it breaks my heart. I draw the blinds & the thrill of rain breaks my heart. I go outside. I ride the train, walk among the buildings, men in Monday suits. The flight of doves, the city of tents beneath the underpass, the huddled mass, old women hawking roses, & children all of them, break my heart. There's a dream I have in which I love the world. I run from end to end like fingers through her hair. There are no borders, only wind. Like you, I was born. Like you, I was raised in the institution of dream. Hand on my heart. Hand on my stupid heart.

I do understand that. It's difficult to know what's coming, and that lack of certainty brings with it a lot of fear. My family fled to America right before the Holocaust really "took off" so to speak. There's a certain etching of that in my bones

Is it just me, or does it feel like the world being ruined by tech oligarchs has kind of broken our collective social media spell?

Like, even those of us who still use it, for work or play or whatever, it’s just like “Yeah, this just isn’t really all that fun anymore”.

Anyone who says empathy is a sin should honestly just be laughed out of the room and ignored completely because literally nothing they say after that could possibly be worth anyone’s time.

Their moral compass is fucked. Their opinions do not matter.
